Story
Hello there, my name is Claudia and I have quite the story to share with you! First here is a little info about me: Breed: Eskimo SpitzAge: 6 yearsGender: Female    Weight: 18 lbHeight: 35 cmHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely barks, no sign of separation anxiety and no escape tendency I was rescued from a burnt house and despite efforts to find my previous owner, they did not want me back. But that's okay because I am ready to move on and find a new family to call my own. I am a people dog through and through. I absolutely adore human friends and I am known for being friendly, affectionate, and oh so cuddly. I will happily let you pet me and snuggle up beside you on the couch. Belly rubs are my absolute favorite, and I will shower you with love and affection in return. In my current foster home, I have been living harmoniously with three other dogs. I enjoy playfighting with dogs of similar size, but I may need some training when meeting new dogs on leash. I am working on my leash reactivity, and with some patience and guidance, I know I can improve. I have not had the chance to meet a cat yet, but I am open to making new friends of all kinds. I have a moderate energy level and love outdoor activities, but I also appreciate some rest and relaxation at home after a nice walk. I am well-behaved during walks and always follow my handler with confidence. I am crate-trained, housetrained, and do not have any resource guarding issues. I am not a big barker and have not shown any signs of separation anxiety. I am looking for a loving family who will give me the care and attention I deserve. If you are looking for a sweet and cuddly companion, I may just be the perfect match for you. I can't wait to meet my forever family! I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: UnsureKids: Unsure Fears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: Crate-trainedLeash skills: Reactive towards new dogs when on leash. Please be prepared to train me.House trained: 90% . Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2048907##
