Story
Daisy is looking for a new home. She is a 6-year-old Miniature American Eskimo who loves playing, walks, and just sitting in your lap getting her belly scratched. Ideally, she does better if she is the only pet and isn't around young children - she does get jealous when she's not the center of attention. Due to my husband's stroke, we are no longer able to provide the care and attention she needs and have made the difficult decision to find her a new home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This adorable little boy was picked up as a stray in Kentucky, so we know absolutely nothing about his past.  But we've learned a lot about him while he has been in our care!    He is very affectionate and loves to be with his human(s) at all times.    He's about 8 years old, and weighs 23#.   We think he prefers to be the only dog in the home.  Initially we thought he would probably enjoy having a canine friend to play with (one who will likely allow him to be alpha), but now we think he would prefer to be an 'only child'.   He's curious about cats, but hasn't bothered the cats in his foster home. Auggie does great on a leash, he's good in the car, house trained and will let you know when he has to go outside and potty.  He easily uses doggie stairs to get up into bed, and he's a great couch companion.  Like many Eskies, he is vocal and slightly demanding at times when he wants something.   He loves his food, and even loves frozen green beans as a treat!  He's currently on a prescription canned food to keep crystals from forming in his urine, which he loves.  It's readily available at Chewy and in pet stores.    (he has a written script for the food, which we will give to adopter).  He does best on soft and canned foods, due to the fact that he had severe periodontal disease when we got him.  He had multiple cracked, broken, and missing teeth, and the vet gave him a 4/4 score for his dental condition.  We usually see that when dogs have spent a lot of time chewing on kennel bars, or trying to eat rocks.   When Auggie had his dental done, most of his teeth were removed, and we're sure he's feeling so much better now because of that.   If you have any questions about Auggie, please contact Cheryl@eskierescuers.org.  Or complete our online Adoption Application, the link is part way down this page: https://www.eskierescuers.org/info/display?PageID=21057  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.    AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION or FOSTER -- LUNA OF CENTRAL FLORIDA !     Meet Luna, an energetic, playful, healthy young female, who loves people and exploring her surroundings.  She is intelligent, quite clever, and a quick learner.  Luna loves playing with her toys or ball toss (she will even bring it back to you!), going for car rides, and watching TV with her foster mom.  She loves being outside, and can happily spend time exploring, chewing on sticks, chasing squirrels, or just resting in the grass.     Luna is an Eskie mix with naturally short fur, a curled tail and brown ears, so she's low maintenance and could be the perfect dog for someone that loves the Eskie intelligence and personality, but without so much shedding or the need to groom quite as often.  She is leash trained, house trained, and well-behaved when left home alone.  Luna weighs 29 pounds, and is estimated to be about 3 or 4 years old.     Luna is currently in a foster home with 4 other dogs.  She gets along with the smaller dogs but doesn't like a senior male in the home.  As a result, she requires supervision when interacting with the other dogs and needs to be kept isolated when the foster is not at home.  It appears Luna was not properly socialized to other dogs as a puppy, and exhibits dog reactivity.  She's curious about other dogs, but isn't comfortable with general interaction with them.  She barks and wants them to stay away from her.     It would be more comfortable for Luna to be the only pet in the home; however, with a little time and patience, we think she would adopt to another non-threatening, smaller dog.  Correcting dog reactivity takes time and socialization training, and Luna is smart and likes to learn.  She quickly understands new expectations.  Luna's probably not the best "first dog" candidate, so we recommend a dog-experienced adopter.  To help the adopter, Eskie Rescuers United will provide online behavior modification training sessions with Baltimore K9 Tutors   ( https://www.baltimorek9tutors.com/about/meet-the-trainers )    Luna was curious and friendly when she met the children next door, but we think she would probably prefer a home without kids, particularly very young children.     She has a strong prey drive, so we don't recommend a home with cats.  Luna LOVES exploring the outdoors!  While not mandatory, she would be very happy with a fully fenced yard.     If you have any questions about Luna, please send an email to:   Cheryl@eskierescuers.org OR text Luna's foster mom Helen at:  407-923-3389   To submit an adoption application for Luna, please complete and submit our online Adoption Application.  You'll find the link for it partway down this page on our website: https://www.eskierescuers.org/info/display?PageID=21057   For more information and to see more pics of Luna, please click on this link to learn more about her:   Whenever possible, Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out our dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where they're being fostered).  Please note that ERU processes local applications before considering those that are farther away.  Adoption fee applies.        Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
