Story
Jax is a 4-year-old American Eskimo/German Shepherd/ Border Collie mix with a big heart and a loyal spirit. He is an active, intelligent dog who loves to run, play, and go for walks. Sometimes shy at first, but once he bonds with you, he is deeply devoted. Jax does best in calmer, more consistent environments. He can be anxious with loud noises, car rides, or when left alone for long periods of time. He is also very protective of his home and owners, which means he tends to bark at visitors and the doorbell. He would thrive with an experienced dog owner who understands anxious, high-energy breeds and can give him plenty of exercise, patience, and reassurance. He is better suited for a person/family that does not have very young children or cats. Other dogs are okay though, as he does well playing and loves company. A fenced in yard with lots of space to run around is key to making him happy. He is a wonderful dog who is looking for his next adventure.

Due to some anxiety around young children, he would do best in a quieter, adult-only household where he can feel safe and relaxed. He has Addison’s disease, which is well-managed with daily medication and regular vet care, and he continues to live a happy, active life. He hasn’t had much interaction with other dogs, so slow introductions would be best if you have pets. If youre looking for a gentle, devoted friend to share your days with, cooper would make a wonderful addition to your home.
