Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jackson is a 7-year-old American Eskimo Dog with a cloud of super-soft white fur, a bright smile and an even bigger and brighter personality to match. At around 30 pounds, he’s the perfect medium-sized companion—though he’s convinced he’s a lap dog and will happily climb up for cuddles. This handsome guy is house trained, crate trained, and well mannered, (in that he will not get on the furniture unless invited and takes treats very gently), making him an easy addition to your home. He already knows several commands such as sit, down, drop it, and off. He's a smart, curious boy who enjoys learning new things and is eager to please his person. Jackson is friendly with older kids, great with other dogs, and even good with cats, so he could fit well into a multi-pet household. He’s high energy and loves long walks, and he does great on a leash—always excited to explore the world around him. He can be reactive with too much movement too fast around his head or if when picking him up you don't support him just right, but he is always willing to give you the opportunity to get it right True to his Eskie nature, Jackson is vocal and alert, so he’ll happily let you know when someone is at the door (or when a squirrel is plotting something suspicious). His groomers also think he may prefer women, so he might bond especially closely with a female guardian. With all that beautiful fur comes lots of shedding, so Jackson will need regular brushing and grooming to keep his coat healthy and matt free —and to keep you from going through bulk lint rollers! Jackson does have one hilarious weakness we have found: wet cat food. This clever boy knows he shouldn’t, but if given the chance, he’ll try to sneak a taste—so keeping kitty meals out of reach will be important in his forever home. Most of all, Jackson is very silly, affectionate, and full of personality—the kind of dog who will keep you laughing and never let you feel lonely. If you’re looking for a fluffy, fun-loving companion who’s equal parts playful and cuddly, Jackson could be your perfect match! This dog's adoption fee is $250Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it. January 26, 2026, 12:19 am
