Story
My name is CRUZ (Buster) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Chihuahua mixAge: 1.5 years oldGender: Male, neutered Weight: 15 lbsHeight: 13 in Hey there, folks! I'm just a little pup with a big ol' tale to tell. See, not long ago, I found myself in a real sad situation after I was found in the streets and ended up in an awful "high kill". I was scared beyond belief in this big, noisy shelter wanting more than anything for someone to come and take me home.  But then, just when things were looking pretty ruff, my luck changed! This amazing team of humans swooped in and rescued me from that scary place. They said I deserved a chance at a happy life, and boy, am I grateful for that! Now, I'm living the dream with my foster family. They're teaching me all about what it means to be part of a loving pack. There's comfy beds, yummy treats, and lots of playtime in the yard. I'm learning so much every day, like how to potty outside, explore on a leash and give the best puppy kisses! Life sure is sweet now, thanks to my incredible foster fam. They're all about teaching me the ropes, like how to sit and stay (still working on that one). I am learning what a normal, happy dog life is all about, and I couldn't be happier. So here's to second chances, belly rubs, and forever homes. Woof woof! I get along well with people and other dogs both big and small. I met a senior cat and I was Ok with her. I'm still young and act like a puppy so I might chase more active cats because I want to play!  Energy Level: Moderate I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: Yes no videoKids: Yes no video Prey drive: unknown/not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: unknown/none observed. Training: basicLeash skills: Please be prepared to train me.House trained: Yes but will need help in a new home I have been vaccinated, and microchipped and neutered. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. Story
Hi there! My name is TRIXI, and here is a little info about me:Breed: Chihuahua mixAge: 10 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 10 lbsHeight: 11 inchesCountry of origin: USA, New MexicoHighlights: Easy-going, charming, snuggler, guard-dog, happy Stop scrolling, the search for your perfect lap warmer is over!Despite being a tiny Chihuahua mix, an extra-large personality lives within me, and a constantly wagging tail is my way of showing the world just how happy I am. Life took a heartbreaking turn when my beloved owner passed away, leaving my cat sibling and me without a home. After being surrendered to a shelter and overcoming a health hurdle (Coccidia), I am now fully recovered and ready for a fresh start. Transitions can be tough for a senior, but my resilient spirit is focused on finding a new couch to call my own.Being a total 'couch potato' is my specialty! Snuggling deep under the covers and burrowing into my people’s hearts are my favorite pastimes. While I am incredibly charming, especially with the women I meet, I also take my job as a miniature guard-dog seriously and will let out a bark to announce any strangers. I get along beautifully with dog siblings of all sizes and have lived successfully with cats, making me a versatile and easy-going companion. A calm, loving sanctuary where I can serve as a dedicated lap warmer would be heaven on earth. Since it seems I was previously an 'inside girl' used to potty pads, a little patience while I learn the outdoor routine in my new home would be greatly appreciated. My heart murmur is easily managed with daily medication, especially if hidden in a tiny piece of sausage! A family ready to provide a soft place to land and a steady routine will find me to be the most loyal friend they’ve ever had.
