Mac is a loving and loyal 12 year old, 16 pound Chihuahua.  He is a little bit shy at first but in his foster's home Mac has blossomed into a relaxed and loving companion.  Mac will pick one person to be "his person", and really does prefer women. Macaroni walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and is doing very well with his house training and will use pee pads. He appreciates having a comfy safe spot of his very own to retreat for reflection and a good nap.  At night, he is expert at burrowing under the covers to sleep at your feet.  Mac is good with other friendly dogs, and respectful of the foster's dog-tolerant cat.  He would do best in a female household without small children or lots of visitors.  Mac travels in a car okay, but he would not be a good long-distance or airplane traveler.  Macaroni loves a good cuddle on the couch, knows how to be a good companion without going over the top, and would be a good friend for life! Macaroni is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. Mac is on medications to prevent seizures which is required three times daily according to schedule. His adoption fee is $200. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Pops is a loving, little chihuahua gentleman with long legs and an adorable underbite. He is well behaved, quiet, and potty trained if he goes outside on a schedule. He is 11 years old and weighs 12 pounds. Pops loves to eat snacks, to snuggle in his dog bed, to sit in the sun, to go on walks and to be petted.  Pops was found on the beach in Coronado, scared and skinny, and brought to a shelter by a kind person. He was very scared, and the shelter staff kept him in the office. He settled in quickly at his foster home, at first just exhausted and hungry. He has gained 2 pounds and is gaining strength and confidence.  He enjoys meeting new people and seeks out pets and treats. He currently does not want to be separated from his foster parent. He will bark (quietly) if left alone, but he will do best with a pet parent he can go to most places with. He does not need a stroller, but he travels in one happily to go to a restaurant or to the boardwalk or somewhere he might otherwise be scared. He is currently walking 2-6 blocks several times per day. At his foster home he is very quiet in a noisy environment. Pops has been very welcoming to doggie visitors in the home. He is more scared of other dogs outside but making lots of progress. He is fine in any situation if he is picked up. He would be fine as the only dog or part of the pack. Pops needs love and patience and gentle support to help him gain back weight and muscle strength and help restore his confidence. He will still sometimes flinch at a touch or be scared by a sudden or loud noise. He feels safe being in a crate and sleeps there at night. Pops is a brave little dog with a gentle disposition. Please apply to meet Pops! He is such a sweetheart and deserves a loving home. He is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on all vaccinations.  His adoption fee is $200.  All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog.
