Story
Life’s just fetching with Finn! Hi, pals! My name is Philly, but you can call me Finn. I’m a fun-loving cuddle bug with unwavering loyalty. I’m a 2-year-old, 18-pound, Chi mix. I’m neutered and I’m a healthy little dude. I was rescued as a puppy but since my family had a human baby and I’m not comfortable around small children, I am looking for a new home that can truly love me furever! I am looking for an understanding individual or family that will allow me to thrive in a new, safe and loving home that gives me encouragement and allows me to show off my best self- the best boy! I’m an active fella who adores frisbee, swimming at the dog beach, and playing fetch all day, every day! I get along with dogs of all kinds but I can get protective over my toys. I also get along with cats! I do well kids (10+ years old) who are respectful of my boundaries. Even though I love having fun, I’m also a big fan of cuddles and pets. I adore my people and make sure to show you my affection. I’m a very good boy who is crate, bathroom, and leash trained… score! I can be a little fearful of new men and may take a bit of time to warm up before I feel totally comfortable. I can resource guard my food/toys and need to work on my sharing. I can get a bit anxious in new settings but with consistency and routine, my confidence will flourish. I do have an independent streak where I do things on my own, but I love a call out and I will come for belly rubs. If you’re looking for an adorable fella to be your bestie, look no further! I’d do best in an active home with teenagers (if any). If younger, as long as they respect my space and leave my toys alone, we will be chums! I would be fine with dogs too. I’d benefit from more positive reinforcement training and a solid routine. So what do you say? I’m a fun, spunky guy who will keep you on your toes and keep your heart full! My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/   ##1060291##

Story
A real good chocolate chip! Hi guys! I am Cookie and I am irresistibly sweet! I am a 5 year old, 8 lbs, female spayed Chihuahua mix. I was rescued from TJ and good thing, because I needed the medical help. I have a seizure disorder and need seizure medication Levetiracetam (~$20.00 for a months supply, depending on where purchased and market value). It helps me a lot! I have been doing really well at my foster home, soaking up the love and care and sunshine. I am also pee pad trained and know how to walk on a leash.  I am a street smart girlie who has made her walk around by staying cool and collected. It may look like I am standoffish initially, but I am just taking time to warm up and trust. I follow this technique with other dogs and it helps keep the situation calm around me and have a good relationship. I prefer older kids only please, due to my gentle needs. But overall, I am super sweet, playful and friendly. I love going on walks and chilling out with my doggie bff. I am a low energy pup who likes her time to sniff flowers and write poetry into the sunset. Just kidding! If you are looking for a calm, mellow girl, look no further! I am the perfect, low-energy companion dog. I would love a quieter home with older kids, or a senior, with another little dog. I am ready to share the infinite love in my heart now, so take me home! My adoption fee is $200 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##2002792##

Story
The dog of your dreams! Hello friends! My name is Venice, like your dream destination. I am 2 years old, a female spayed Chihuahua mix. I am a light little 9 lb girl. I was found roaming the streets by the San Diego pet recovery specialist Babs Fry. I have been at my foster home since then. I am crate trained, and working on bathroom and leash training. I am a total cutie, shy initially but energetic once I am comfortable. It will be zoomies all around! Decompression time is helpful for me. I adore playing with toys. Keep those pens away will ya, cuz I enjoy chewing them! I have been lighting up my foster home with my love and affection. I get along very well with cats! I don't have a lot of experience yet, but should be good with dogs too. Same goes for kids, but maybe older ones are better because of my skittish nature.  I am really looking forward to a loving home where I will be treated like a princess. I will make you fall in love with my sweetness! Once I get the potty training and leash training down, I will be the perfect dog. A mellow home, with plenty of playtime will be great for me. If you'd like to me your furever, let's meet! My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Hamme - a sweet 12 year Chihuahua mix with cute long legs. His owner passed away and a friend of the rescue helped him avoid the shelter.  Hamme was living with his buddy Roy (a medium lab/pit mix also available for adoption!). Hamme does well with other dogs, but would benefit from no puppies and a more low key household. He is house trained, crate-trained, good on a leash, and is very smart. Please consider adopting a senior pet as they receive the least applications yet are some of the best pals.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 10, 2024, 4:31 pm

Story
Meet Minnie!  She was seen being tossed from a vehicle in a rural part of the county.  No one could find her and assumed her dead in an area thick with predators (owls, coyotes and cats of all sizes).  Days later she popped up, frightened and ran if anyone approached.  After reports of repeated sightings she was humanely trapped and her new life began.  No owner came claim to her so she went to foster where she decompressed and started to learn about love.  She was under a year old and clearly knew little of human touch or kindness.  After several months she learned to trust, walk on leash, bond and love.  Due to foster circumstances her time there had to terminate and she has continued her journey on site at the rescue facility.  After a year she tugs the heart strings of all volunteers with her sad dopey eyes, desperate need to love and be safe.  She loves. her "normal".  She is always eager to go on her walks and does great with those she can trust.  She struggles with new people but is eager to please, treat motivated and warms up quickly if you go slow and let her lead.  She wants to snuggle.  Pillows are her favorite spot in bed.  She wants to be your shadow.  Despite her fear of people she is happy to go on adventures and enjoys her time in the company of those that make her feel safe.  She can be around dogs but does not share so can't live with other pets because she guards her stuff and people with animals (NOT people).  She has the little dog complex and no fear when taking on an animal challenge, which for sure is how she survived her time amidst the wilderness.  She continues to work on her world bravery with pack walks and outings but has done her time and is due for her home.  She has recurring cherry eye on both sides.  One has already been addressed surgically but came back.  Vet recommendation is to leave it alone if surgery did not cure and it presents no discomfort or irritation.  It comes and goes and does not bother her.  Vet's words were it looks worse to us than it feels to her.  Can you be patient, love unconditionally, have no expectations other than a deep soul connection?  If so, this girl is for you. Flight Risk: do not leave unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures. Must be aware of open doors and windows.  Can NEVER be offleash in unfenced areas for life.To adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/37765/genericTo foster: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/37764/genericEmail: awayhomefordogs@gmail.com ##1318876##

Story
Tumbling right into your heart! Hi, teammates! My name is Suni Lee, and I’m a 11-month-old Pomeranian female, weighing in at 6 pounds.  I’ve come all the way from Mexicali with the rest of my litter, and I can’t wait to find my furever home! I’m an adorable, fun-sized gal who will make the perfect addition to anyone looking for a companion. I love playing with other doggies, being outside, and running around.  I can be a little skittish at first and will hide in my crate or under furniture.  But, with a little time, I eventually warm up and my true self shines!  Currently, I’m pee pad-trained and have gotten used to my crate.  I don’t have any separation anxiety and do just fine on my own when left behind.  My health is in tip-top shape, and I have already been spayed.  I’ll likely do best in a home that has playful and confident doggie siblings who can show me the ropes and help me come out of my shell.  Other than that, give me lots of love, and I promise to be yours furever! My adoption fee is $600 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/. ##2146975##

Story
Cookie is a beautiful 1 year-old purebred Pomeranian Cookie. Has all vaccines, dewormed & spayed. She's full of personality and smart. Cookie loves all dogs but smaller dogs make better playmates. She loves car rides, morning cuddles, belly rubs, knows basic commands. She needs to eat quality dog food (not kibble) or will develop allergies and be exercised a lot since she's young & active & used to playing fetch off-leash. She can be left alone uncrated if tired out. Cookie does not like kids & is slow to warm up to people but once she does, she has your heart fully. I want her to have a full life not solely be a house/yard dog, stroller/backpack puppy. Ideally looking for someone with another young small dog/s she can play with but whose owner will also take them out for playtime. You must be committed & able to care for her financially for the duration of her life, which could up to 15-20 years. I will require an application & home visit as a start. Text me at 619-871-5120
