Story
Hi, I’m Manny! I’m about 4 years old, I’m house and crate trained, I know how to sit, and I’ll be your best friend. However, I have some criteria that I need from you. I take a minute to warm up to new people, and I don’t particularly appreciate too much love. I will ask for pets when I want them, but don’t get carried away. My favorite thing? Foot pets!!! Let me rub my body on your feet and I’m in heaven! Another thing I love is food. Big food guy! Dogs? I’m good with dogs! I have two foster siblings and I’m super respectful about their space. My foster family says I’m the most perfect dog and all I truly need is someone who will respect my space. I get so excited when my people get home from work. I may bark at new guests, but if they just ignore me, I’ll ignore them. I walk pretty well on a leash, though I like to lead the way! No kids for me please! They move too fast and scare me. If you’re interested in seeing if we are a match, fill out the adoption application!

Story
Meet Finny. He’s got the biggest personality I’ve ever seen. He loves balls. And his one person. He is only 11 lbs but is protective over his one person. He’s not good with cats. They are his bitter ultimate enemy, and is not good with children. Did I say he has a big personality? He does. He will grumble and growl when he wants to play and you’re not playing. He will boss and control the 75 lb dog at his foster house, he will tell the Amazon person all about how they are not welcome. But this teeny ball of chaos snuggles and loves his one person just as hard if not more than his silly antics. He is still working on potty training outside but seems to do decently well with puppy training pads. He is an excellent friend on car rides and loves camping and adventure. He will be the perfect friend for someone who loves to laugh, doesn’t mind his possessiveness over his ONE person and has no cats. Finn's adoption fee is $250 and he will come fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchip. Story
Baxter first came to Chihuahua Rescue 5 years ago when he was almost one year old. He was surrendered back to the Rescue along with Matilda, who is called Tilly. They were surrendered to Chihuahua Rescue after their owner developed serious health issues and was no longer able to care for them. Potty training was not enforced in Baxter's previous household, so we re-emphasized that skill. He made good progress and is pretty reliable, especially since we got his urinary tract infection treated. He's also crate trained now. Baxter was very overweight upon his return, so with the efforts outlined below we got him back to a healthy weight. Feeding a measured amount of weight-loss food, limiting treats, no human food and getting good exercise in the yard has done the trick; he is at his goal weight! Baxter does have a tendency to bolt out the door if given the chance, so potential adopters should have a securely fenced yard. Baxter has settled in well into his foster's household. His shots are back up to date and he is heartworm negative and back on preventive. Baxter has a very loud bark and uses it to indicate his desires or notify the household of approaching strangers, so he would not be ideal in a shared-wall situation. Baxter is particularly not a fan of big dogs. 10/31/22 CG, updated 11/18/22, 1/11/23, 2/16/23, 4/10/23
