Story
6-20 PUPDATE: JOSIE received her puppy exam (8'ish weeks old and very healthy), had a luxurious mani-pedi, lots of attention from her adoring fans at the vet hospital and was given her 2nd puppy shot (DHPP). SHE IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION INTO A WONDERFUL HOME!! 7/17/24-2nd mani-pedi, putting on some weight and wears a vest so she can be caught! (she enjoys making her human chase after her or crawl under furniture to pull her out! Loves digging holes and playing and digging holes in the dirt, getting dirty and wrestling with big 'brother' 2 legged Doodle in the small yard and playing in her makeshift puppy pool and chasing balls up and down the doggy ramp! JOSIE WILL BE DUE FOR HER 3RD DHPP AND 1 YEAR RABIES VACCINE THE THIRD WEEK OF JULY 2024. MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND (Monday): We took JOSIE in from a good samaritan who scooped her up while she and her litter mates were being given away at a nearby brewery during Memorial Day Weekend 2024. Her estimated age is 6 weeks old. JOSIE had her first vet exam and was given her first puppy vaccination (distemper, parvovirus) and is a healthy little, smart little girl!! She is not a yapper, a barker, and has good, medium energy, though, being a puppy, of course, wants to play and run with the "big dogs" (all under 15 lbs) and explore! But her favorite game is fetch! She will also chew on a nylabone or play with her toys while in her kennel. I always keep a bowl of water and food in her kennel and her larger kennel as well as water in the room because she's more of a 24 hr. grazer than a meal time eater. She is not a "girly girl" and is rough and tumble! Josie loves to splash in the small water bowl in the small dog yard and run around in the mud and dirt! Loves car rides and looking out the window. I'm guestimating her weight at 2 lbs. without the vest. JOSIE is on a schedule, has always slept through the night, is being pee pad trained and ....drumroll please......has been taught to FETCH & RETRIEVE!! JOSIE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AT 8 WEEKS OLD -- after she has received her 2nd puppy vaccination (DHPP). IMPORTANT: The Adopter must have a securely fenced yard/play area and she is NEVER EVER allowed to be left alone or unattended by an adult!! This puppy is NOT ALLOWED to be taken to a dog park or public park. This puppy MUST wear a vest/harness with collar and identification tags and leash. The home cannot have any animals that weigh over 15 lbs., NO CATS, and children must be calm, responsible with animals (this puppy is NOT a teaching tool) and over the age of 10. The adopter is responsible for all follow up vaccinations, rabies vacc, microchip and spay at 4 months old. Microchip must include PDR's name and # as well as adopter's. The adopter is responsible for providing timely proof of all of these requirements which will also be included in the adoption application/agreement. PDR reserves the right to confiscate this dog at any time if these responsibilities are not followed through. Please contact us with questions, to request an adoption application to be emailed to you, or to schedule a meet n greet (to pre-approved adopters). Story
Hello, gentle people!I am Mama! Blackie and I are a pair of chihuahua mixes, and I was born approximately 10/28/2014. We have both lived inside of a house our whole lives so the nice people at Safe Haven let Blackie and me go live with a foster dad! He has other small dogs, and we get along really well. Blackie and I are not, however, quite sure what to make of our other housemate, a kitty cat. We like to chase the kitty cat and bark at her sometimes, but our foster dad is trying to convince us to be friends with her. We're still thinking about it! ?? We are wishing so hard for a new family with warm laps to cuddle in and a nice little yard with sunny spots to lounge in. I have all of my shots, I am spayed, I am microchipped, and I am house trained! Do you have any extra room in your heart to love a cute little old lady furever and ever?Peace, love, and tail wags,MamaNote: Mama has been diagnosed with heart disease and is taking prescription medication.
