Story
Meet Reed! Hello everyone, my name is Reed! You might think I look a little funny with little to no hair, but would you guess that I don't have a single hairless breed in my DNA, despite being found near a house that had been breeding hairless dogs? Yep, that just means I'm special! As an adult dog that weighs just 27 pounds, I have some very easily treatable skin issues. I just need to have a special bath every 1-2 weeks in the summer when my skin gets a bit sticky and as needed in the winter. Voila! Foster mom says I'm a really good boy, that might be a bit misunderstood by the average person, so she says I need to look for just the right one to be my forever human. You see, I'm pretty fearful of things, loud noises, and fast movements being one of them, so I shouldn't live with kiddos. I'd actually prefer to live with just one person or a very quiet two people. Men can sometimes be scary for me, so I'd prefer humans of the female variety. I get along with quiet dogs who kind of just like lounging around. I'm a good boy and go potty outside. Actually, I enjoy being outside a lot! Good thing I don't mind wearing clothes, because I'll need to wear them in the summer to protect my skin, and in the cooler month to keep me warm! I'm not a super huge fan of crates, but my foster mom has one set up for me as a safe space if people come over or if I just need a little downtime. I enjoy going on walks and do well on a leash. I really really want to do what my humans want me to do, but I tend to be scared to do some things. I'm never trying to be naughty, I just don't know how to talk human to let you know! The only way I know how to say I'm scared of something is to give a grumble. That doesn't make me a bad guy, I'm just doing the only thing I can to communicate. I That's where the special person comes in to play. My human will have to be able to see when I'm uncomfortable and intervene if I get in over my head in certain situations. I take some medicine for my anxiety to help me not be quite so scared, and that has been really helpful! I'm not asking for a lot in life, just to be understood. Do you think you can be my special person? Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Meet Bert! Hey, y'all, my name is Bert, and I come to you from the great state of Georgia! Go DAWGS! I'm an adult and everything, but I could still be converted into a Badger fan. I hear their fans are really good boys, just like me. I go potty outside, I get along well with other dogs, and I like people! I'm not sure if I like cats or kids, but my foster mom says she thinks I would do just fine with everyone as long as they promise to me nice to me, especially since I'm not a very big boy, I only weigh about 10 pounds. Also, kiddos need to understand that I can't see them coming, so they might need to talk to me so I know what's going on. I love getting my belly rubbed, even if it is just a small belly. Oh, I also really love me some American cheese slices! I hear that wrapper, and I come running. Oh, who am I kidding, I love all the treats! Another thing that I kind of dig is going for a walk in a doggie stroller. Foster mom recently took me, and I did great. I never even knew they made a stroller for us canines! I enjoy saying hi to new people, and my little tail is so happy and wags so fast. At the end of the day, I will put myself to bed early, in my favorite dog bed, and happily sleep through the night. Now foster mom says it's time for me to find my forever family that will love everything about me and take care of me really good! I'm excited to see who my new people will be, and maybe we can't watch a little football together. Are you ready for game day with a new little belly to rub? Story
Meet Bobo! Hello, my name is Bobo! I'm a sweet, senior, southern gentleman coming from TN. I'm just a little guy, weighing 12 pounds, which is just the perfect size for cuddling with my humans! I had a home of my very own, but once I got fleas, they gave me up. Now that those itchy buggers are all gone, I'm ready to find my new humans who will love me always! I get along well with other kind doggos, and actually like to play with others, though sometimes I can be a bit pushy in my play style. Oh, and I love all humans. I'm a good boy and go potty outside, but foster mom put a belly band on me when I first got to her house until I learned the routine there, and I learned pretty fast! I enjoy going on walks with my people and do really well on a leash, but I like to get all the sniffies in, so I might do a little ziggy zag while we're walking along. Inside, my favorite activity is sitting on a chair by a window watching the world go by or taking daytime naps in my dog bed. In the evenings, I'll happily sit by you on the couch and snuggle while we watch a few episodes of your favorite shows until it's time to go to bed. I'd love to be able to sleep in the big bed with you at night so you can feel all the love I have to give you! Foster mom says I'm a pretty great little guy, and I hope I can show you how amazing I am soon! *Bobo is being fostered in Janesville, WI.
