Story
Meet Bobo! Hello, my name is Bobo! I'm a sweet, senior, southern gentleman coming from TN. I'm just a little guy, weighing 12 pounds, which is just the perfect size for cuddling with my humans! I had a home of my very own, but once I got fleas, they gave me up. Now that those itchy buggers are all gone, I'm ready to find my new humans who will love me always! I get along well with other kind doggos, and actually like to play with others, though sometimes I can be a bit pushy in my play style. Oh, and I love all humans. I'm a good boy and go potty outside, but foster mom put a belly band on me when I first got to her house until I learned the routine there, and I learned pretty fast! I enjoy going on walks with my people and do really well on a leash, but I like to get all the sniffies in, so I might do a little ziggy zag while we're walking along. Inside, my favorite activity is sitting on a chair by a window watching the world go by or taking daytime naps in my dog bed. In the evenings, I'll happily sit by you on the couch and snuggle while we watch a few episodes of your favorite shows until it's time to go to bed. I'd love to be able to sleep in the big bed with you at night so you can feel all the love I have to give you! Foster mom says I'm a pretty great little guy, and I hope I can show you how amazing I am soon! *Bobo is being fostered in Janesville, WI. Story
Meet Hash Brown! Oh! Well, hello there! My name is Hash Brown, and I'm a senior guy who is 18 pounds of pure love and perfection. I'm sorry if I seemed startled a bit, but since I'm blind you can't sneak up on me like that. If you just give me a little warning by saying my name, that's a whole lot of help to me. I'm a really good boy and have never shown an ounce of anger toward people, and I would even do well with older kiddos who understand what my being blind entails. I get along splendidly with other dogs, especially if they don't react to me potentially bumping into them. I get around great and navigate my foster home well! I haven't met any cats yet, but foster mom says that since I'm quite the laid-back guy, she doesn't think there would be any issues. I'm a good boy about going potty outside because I want to be my very best self for my humans! I'm a really smart boy, and the first day I was here, I taught myself to do the few steps on the deck to get to the yard! I love to be close to my humans, and I'm an absolute snuggle bug, wanting to sleep in bed real close to you every night. I'd love it if I could find a home where my humans want to be with me as much as possible. Though I understand if you might need to leave, I'll voice my opinion on the matter to begin with, so apartment living may not be the best for me. I'm not destructive in anyway though, so you can let me free-roam while you are gone if you wish. Mostly, I just need a home who will be understanding of my lack of sight and love me regardless! I'm just little, so I promise not to take up much room. Do you have a little space and love for me? Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Meet Lucy! Hey everyone, my name is Lucy, and I'm a very special senior lady weighing just 6 pounds. I'm a little shy at first, but I warm up in time. I'm good with other dogs of all sizes and don't mind feline friends. I can be a bit crabby, er bossy, errrr opinionated at times, much like Lucy from Peanuts, so I would say young children aren't a good idea to have in my new, forever home. I go potty outside and do well with a schedule, so there aren't any accidents. I love being near my human, preferably on the couch cuddled up under some blankets. In the morning, I'll share my eggs with you, or maybe you could share yours with me! I love my time inside, catching the warm sun rays through a window rather than being outside. If you get a little carrying sac, I'd love to be everywhere you are and go with you all the places you go.but I'll also stay home if you can't take me with you. I'm a super good girl, and I'd love to find my forever home sooner rather than later. I promise to keep my Lucy Van Pelt side to myself as much as possible if you promise to love me through it all! Are you ready to take me home with you? *Lucy is being fostered in the Columbus, WI area. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Meet Reed! Hello everyone, my name is Reed! You might think I look a little funny with little to no hair, but would you guess that I don't have a single hairless breed in my DNA, despite being found near a house that had been breeding hairless dogs? Yep, that just means I'm special! As an adult dog that weighs just 27 pounds, I have some very easily treatable skin issues. I just need to have a special bath every 1-2 weeks in the summer when my skin gets a bit sticky and as needed in the winter. Voila! Foster mom says I'm a really good boy, that might be a bit misunderstood by the average person, so she says I need to look for just the right one to be my forever human. You see, I'm pretty fearful of things, loud noises, and fast movements being one of them, so I shouldn't live with kiddos. I'd actually prefer to live with just one person or a very quiet two people. Men can sometimes be scary for me, so I'd prefer humans of the female variety. I get along with quiet dogs who kind of just like lounging around. I'm a good boy and go potty outside. Actually, I enjoy being outside a lot! Good thing I don't mind wearing clothes, because I'll need to wear them in the summer to protect my skin, and in the cooler month to keep me warm! I'm not a super huge fan of crates, but my foster mom has one set up for me as a safe space if people come over or if I just need a little downtime. I enjoy going on walks and do well on a leash. I really really want to do what my humans want me to do, but I tend to be scared to do some things. I'm never trying to be naughty, I just don't know how to talk human to let you know! The only way I know how to say I'm scared of something is to give a grumble. That doesn't make me a bad guy, I'm just doing the only thing I can to communicate. I That's where the special person comes in to play. My human will have to be able to see when I'm uncomfortable and intervene if I get in over my head in certain situations. I take some medicine for my anxiety to help me not be quite so scared, and that has been really helpful! I'm not asking for a lot in life, just to be understood. Do you think you can be my special person? Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Meet Bert! Hey, y'all, my name is Bert, and I come to you from the great state of Georgia! Go DAWGS! I'm an adult and everything, but I could still be converted into a Badger fan. I hear their fans are really good boys, just like me. I go potty outside, I get along well with other dogs, and I like people! I'm not sure if I like cats or kids, but my foster mom says she thinks I would do just fine with everyone as long as they promise to me nice to me, especially since I'm not a very big boy, I only weigh about 10 pounds. Also, kiddos need to understand that I can't see them coming, so they might need to talk to me so I know what's going on. I love getting my belly rubbed, even if it is just a small belly. Oh, I also really love me some American cheese slices! I hear that wrapper, and I come running. Oh, who am I kidding, I love all the treats! Another thing that I kind of dig is going for a walk in a doggie stroller. Foster mom recently took me, and I did great. I never even knew they made a stroller for us canines! I enjoy saying hi to new people, and my little tail is so happy and wags so fast. At the end of the day, I will put myself to bed early, in my favorite dog bed, and happily sleep through the night. Now foster mom says it's time for me to find my forever family that will love everything about me and take care of me really good! I'm excited to see who my new people will be, and maybe we can't watch a little football together. Are you ready for game day with a new little belly to rub? Story
Hello, my name is Opal; that name means ‘gem' and I am precious. I was a stray on the mean streets of Milwaukee when some kind folks brought me to a place called MADACC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission). They took good care of me for a while and realized I was not meant for the hustle and bustle of big city life, so I transferred to WCHS to find a home in peaceful Washington County. I am a cautious gal who is a bit weary of strangers; I just don't like to rush into new situations. You can't blame a girl for being careful. Once I have some time to become comfortable and bring someone into my inner circle, I absolutely adore them. And once my motor is running, I am quite the spitfire - I love to run like the wind. I am very playful and have even been known to chase a tennis ball and bring it back to you. However, my retriever impression only surfaces occasionally, mostly I just like to chase the ball. I must confess that when I am romping and playing and having a fun time, I may not want to stop for cuddle time; there is simply too much joy to be had and daylight is a burning. I am an affectionate lass and imagine many cozy evenings with you; at 15 pounds I think I may be a wonderful lap lover. I am looking forward to finding my forever home where I can form strong bonds with my human. I am a youngster so I have some learning to do in the manners department; since I am small and people are up so high, I jump up on them to get as close as I can. I do enjoy tasty treats and accept rewards gently so that will definitely help during our training sessions. I think I would enjoy taking classes and getting involved in various activities with you; learning new skills can help boost a pup's self-confidence. I am an energetic pooch and might even enjoy agility or other canine sports. I have had some great times playing with some other small dogs at the shelter; I am a canine social butterfly. I am comical, entertaining and a wee bit chatty but that is simply because I have some important things to say. I am a quirky little girl who promises to be loyal forever. Stop by to meet me in person, give me some time to relax with you and I think you will agree that we can have a magnificent life together.#2

Klaus is a tiny guy, and if he was a cat he would have used up at least 8.5 of his lives. Only weighing in at about 10 pounds, this little dude was hit by a car. It just about turned him into a jigsaw puzzle but hey he's mostly repaired now! But sans one leg.   He's only about a year old, but he's an old man at heart. Klaus isn't much for playtime or zoomies. He'd rather spend all day snuggling with you! While he does live with other dogs, the bigger ones can scare him at first. He doesn't GAF about cats, they might as well not exist in his world.   Klaus is potty trained, crate trained, and knows a few basic commands. Mostly the commands are in Spanish. He doesn't even bark much! Mostly he grunts and groans. What more could you ask for in a tiny dog?   Approximate DOB: 2023 Foster Home Location: Madison    If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful dogs, you can apply on our website: https://forms.gle/MGakwmFh92UiK9iM6     Please allow several days for us to process your application. Meet Kenny! Well, hello there! I’m Kenny, and I am wondering why we haven’t met yet. I am 17 pounds of floof and charisma. I arrived from down south just before that February cold snap, and let me tell you - not a fan! But Albert’s hooked me up with some sweet winter gear, so I survived. Foster mom said that even though I am mostly house trained, I forgot the rules during the deep freeze. No big deal, she said, just wear this stylish band around your belly to catch any accidents! Since I'm a senior now, I need to go outside more frequently, so if I'm home alone for longer periods, I wear a belly band then too. I get along well with other dogs, and though I haven't met any cats, I likely wouldn't have any issues with them since I'm a pretty easygoing guy. Along with that, I could see myself doing just fine with respectful children who can keep in mind that I'm just a little old man who just needs some love in his life! I even get super excited when I see the elementary school kids in the neighborhood! I have charmed all the neighbors and am showing interest in playing with my fur foster brothers. I don’t really understand this game everyone calls fetch, but I’m there for a good game of chase. You should see me play bow! I do this hilarious routine of jumping on the couch and strutting up and down the length of it, accidentally on purpose messing up the couch cover. I like napping on the back of the couch like a cat and taking walks and do fairly well on a leash. The dog park is interesting - all the smells! I mostly stay by your side at the dog park, so you won’t see me running away! I especially like the ladies, although I love everyone. I think my dream home would be with someone who is around most of the time. My separation anxiety is minor, but my bark is way bigger than my size suggests. So, no apartments for me. After a nice walk, my favorite thing to do is cuddle up with my human, soaking in the good life! I sure hope you think I'm a super great fit for your home so I can go home with you! *Kenny is being fostered in the Madison, WI area. Story
Meet Jazzy! Are you looking for a delightful little gal? Jazzy is a beautiful 5lb Pomeranian mix with a personality to match! Even though she's a golden-oldie and, she's an active gal who loves going for short walks and spending time exploring the backyard of her foster home. You might say, she's a bit of a social butterfly. She's been known to do an abrupt 180-degree turn while out on her walks just to try and follow someone else to see what they are up to. As she has settled into her foster home, Jazzy's personality has begun to blossom. Besides her enjoyment of having her neck scratched and a good ole backrub, Jazzy is generally good with people and other dogs, though she hasn't met any children or cats in her foster home. In her former home, she had a canine sibling and is currently enjoying the company of the 2 dogs in her foster home. Jazzy recently found her voice and while she doesn't use it often, she will let you know when she wants some attention. While many dogs are motivated by food, Jazzy is a bit more selective in what she puts in her mouth. After a recent dental, she only has 4 teeth left, so some textures just seem to appeal to her more than others. Jazzy would love a home that will be patient with her as she works on her potty-training skills. While she is good about going potty outside there are times, she has a senior moment and does her own thing. Even though Jazzy has a lot of pep in her step, she still appreciates having time to enjoy some peace and quiet. If you think you have the perfect family home for Jazzy, we'd love to hear from you!
