Meet our sweet, special boy Eddie. Eddie has been through the ringer let us tell you! Eddie came to us paralyzed after being hit by a car. Our team worked their wonders and had a fantastic foster step up to help him with his care. Now he can walk and run, just has a little wobble to his walk. Eddie loves other dogs and requires a home with one. He has a slightly enlarged heart and will be a special needs boy for life, however long that life may be. He loves people and going on walkies! Cats are a hard bargain with him. Some don`t bother him and some he likes to chase after. He absolutely adores kids! Dogs up for adoption at the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative (if age appropriate), given initial vaccinations (a booster may be needed), given flea, tick and heartworm preventative, & dewormed. Yoda 3yr Bully x M. $200 plus tax. My oh my is this guy a hoot! He`s just super happy, loves to play toys and has a soft mouth with it and playing fetch. New to the shelter, unk with kids/cats/dogs.We do our very best in providing truthful information about our adoptable dogs. If you do not see information about one of our dogs’ personalities, it is because we do not know much about them yet. We do appreciate a dog meet and greet to see if the dogs are compatible, an appointment is helpful but not required. We can complete a cat introduction at the shelter in a safe manner to get a sense of the dog’s behavior towards cats. With that knowledge, we will provide a blanket statement that you are ultimately responsible for keeping your cat safe. We recommend crate training for all our dogs while they adjust to a new home environment. Please bring along your family to meet the dog you’re looking at to see that it is a good fit. Also bring landlord permission for adopting a dog which includes any breed or weight restrictions.

Story
Matilda is a young suspected Weimaraner + Pit Bull terrier mix who came to us with her non-littermate sister, Scarlet. They were found in another city as as impound pups and we took them in to spare their lives. Matilda is very affectionate, vocal and LOVES attention. She loves to be pet, loves to give big puppy hugs and kisses. She has a lot of energy and has some growing to do yet. She does need some training - someone to work with her and teach her some boundaries and rules, such as not jumping on people. She is super smart though and we have no doubt at all that she will pick this up quickly. Because she has a lot of power in her jump, she may not do great with younger kids who are more susceptible to being knocked over - at least until she is trained. She is still young and is still learning to save her potty for outdoors. Occasionally she will have an accident or two. We are working on this with her. Matilda will be spayed shortly and receive her rabies vaccination. She is up to date on her distemper and bordetella vaccinations. She has received her latest monthly dose of flea & tick preventative and will be tested shortly for heart worm, Ehrlichia Canis, Lyme's and Anaplasma (4DX). Matilda came to us with Scarlet and the two have done well together. We do not know how she would do with other dogs as this is something we do not test at the shelter due to insurance limitations. Matilda does not seem to mind the other dogs in the shelter though. We do not know how she would do with cats. She is young and curious about the world around her. Matilda is simply waiting for the right people to come in and meet her and fall in love with the amazing and beautiful girl that she is.
