Story
This big guy's name is Orion! He is a five-year-old Pit Bull mix who was brought to us by a local animal control officer when he was found in unfortunate living conditions. He lived in the woods on a chain without shelter, food or clean water for quite a bit of his life and with minimal interaction. After being brought to us we were able to put some weight on him and get him neutered once he was deemed healthy enough. Unfortunately he tested positive for Heartworm so he is currently undergoing treatment - all provided by the shelter. Orion loves to play although he is on exercise restrictions due to the Heartworm infection so he will need to find stimulation either through training, puzzles, or low-energy play. He unfortunately does not have any experience with other animals so he will need to be an only pet in his new home and should be in a home with older children over 13 years of age. This dog is a sweet boy who has a long road ahead of him and is in need of a loving and patient home where he can figure out what it is to be a house dog and a family pet. Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html September 10, 2024, 12:05 pm

Story
This big guy’s name is Hippo! Hippo is a five-year-old Pit Bull Terrier whose previous owner unfortunately did not have the means to take care of him due to his size and exuberant personality. He will need a Terrier experienced home as he still has a lot of learning to do. He is quite a loyal boy so with some time he has potential to be a wonderful companion. He will need a home without other pets or young children due to some resource guarding issues. Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html September 10, 2024, 12:05 pm

Story
This spunky girls name is Gabby! Gabby was found running as a stray who took almost two weeks to catch. She was skin and bones when she was finally caught and spent some time with an animal lover who held onto her until we had space for her. We believe she is around a year and a half old Hound and Pittie mix. This girl loves to run! She gets the typical zoomies and we actually have to keep a leash on her in the yard as she likes to play keep away. She is timid with new people but does warm up to them with time. We believe it would be difficult to find a dog she would get along with as she has a pushy personality when it comes to greeting other dogs. She certainly has a prey drive so no cats in the home would be best. We believe she would be ok with children over ten in the right environment. She is a typical energetic young dog that just needs some basic training and socialization and has the potential to make a wonderful family member! Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html September 10, 2024, 12:05 pm

Story
Meet Lou! This handsome boy is an approximately five-year-old Bully mix that loves rolling in the grass and playing in the water! He was originally found abandoned at the shelter, emaciated and ill from Lyme disease. He has gotten to a happy, healthy weight and is back to being a fun loving boy. He could possibly live with a dog or cat with a slow introduction but may prefer a female canine companion. Due to his size and rough play style he would do better in a home with older children. Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html September 10, 2024, 12:05 pm

Story
Hi everyone, Oreo here. I am a young Pitty/Lab Mix hoping to find a new home. My ideal home would be with someone who can help me learn and grow, while not pushing me along. See, I am quite shy and still learning about the big world so I get nervous pretty easily. I need someone patient and kind. I have lived with other dogs before but haven't met any dogs other than the one I lived with. All that to say a doggy sibling is a potential? I have lived with kids before too but I would do best in a home where the kids can understand and respect my space and be able to have patience with me. I am still young so I am learning all the basics, like manners and leash skills. It may take me a bit to become comfortable with you but I promise I am worth it. Come visit me Tues-Sat 12-3 at the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.
