Story
Say hello to sweet River! River was found by a Good Samaritan on 5/18/2022 by the river bridges off Democrat Rd. in Eastern Brazos County. No tags or collar. NO MICROCHIP. Most likely dumped. River is an intact male mixed breed dog. He's likely a pitbull shepherd cross and he has the most adorable ears! His medical history is unknown and the temporary home he is in has not updated his vaccines or had him heartworm tested. They are only allowed to hang on to him for a few more days so it is very important that he finds a loving home soon! He is a young dog. His foster believes he's about a year old. His teeth are very clean and still small. He’s housebroken and crate trained. He’s really only left in the kennel when his temporary fosters are not at home and he does really well! The temporary foster has another male dog in the home and they both get along great. He always tries to sniff the cat in the home, but they haven't officially spent time together since the cat is very timid and hides from him. River has not been around young children, but he does well with adults and older kids. We believe that River would do best in a home that has older children that can interact with him. If you are interested in River, please contact Tina at (979) 595-7903 or email at tinacorgey.1974@icloud.com.

Story
Meet Ginger! Ginger is a true rescue dog. She was rescued from a family who had a dog-aggressive pet in the home which eventually cost her a trip to the ER. Since we've had Ginger she has come out of shell beautifully, she does well with calm-submissive dogs. Ginger is being kennel trained, but will need the patience to get fully there. She has done well with new people given the chance to take things slowly. She loves playing and clearly adores any attention given! Once she feels safe you'll have a best friend for life! Please consider Ginger as you continue your search for a new furry friend, contact us or Summit Veterinary Hospital at (979) 315-1999! Ginger is spayed and microchipped. She is also up to date on all vaccines and she's dewormed. Unfortunately she is heartworm positive but is already receiving treatment. Our adoption process begins with you meeting Ginger. Feel free to schedule a play date with her and your existing dog(s). After you fill out an application, we will verify your references and do a brief home inspection. If all goes well, we will deliver Ginger to you for a small adoption fee. We then ask that you sign our adoption contract. We will do a follow-up visit approximately two weeks to one month after the adoption to ensure that Ginger is adjusting well to her new home and that she's happy and healthy. We feel our adoption process is the best way to vet good owners and to guard against people seeking dogs for dog fighting, bait dogs, and/or dog sales. We only have our rescue dogs' best interest in mind and we do everything we can to ensure that they go to the very best home and that it's the perfect fit.

Story
Hector has been on a few Dog Day Out trips. Here is what his volunteers have said about him:-Hector is your definition of a bro-dog and just wants to get out there with you and play! He has SO much personality! Hector loves to chase squirrels, sniff, and run! Yummy treats, rough housing with him, and snuggles are the way to his heart.-Hector is super friendly to everyone he meets, he is very playful but don’t let that fool you he is a big cuddle bug and will lay next to you on the couch as long as you let him. He loves treats and respond well to them. If I could keep him for myself I would, he is an amazing dog.
