Story
One of our very special gals. Bonita is so amazing, she gets along with all other doggies and loves playtime with her foster siblings. We have her listed as not cat friendly because she is so curious about them and gets excited when she is near them but has never attempted to chase or attack one. We prefer her to go into a home without cats for safety purposes. Bonita loves all new people she meets, kids and adults. She is leash, crate, house and potty trained. She also knows how to use a pee pad indoors. Bonita does very good with furniture and loves to snuggle on the couch. She has quite the personality, always smiling and a happy go lucky girlie. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, dewormed, finished her heartworm treatment 12/5/23 and has been released to be active again without restrictions. Any pet should be tested every 6-12 months for heartworms even if they are on preventions because they can still become positive. We have her on Bravecto that’s given every three months for flea/tick prevention and it has helped to clear her skin tremendously. She has some minor skin spots/calluses that we use balm on and are in so much better condition than the day we took her in. She has some weight on her now that will start to shed. The weight was due to her not being able to be very active during the two month period of Heartworm treatment. She has since been released to return to normal activities and the weight is falling off and she is becoming healthier as the days go by. She is perfect and we have been blessed to nurture her back to life. Bonita was a stray in Victoria, Texas dumped on a backroad to fend for herself. She never left that spot, its like she had faith they were coming back for her but sadly they never did and she sat days eating rocks, gravel, bones or anything that could keep her full until her family came back for her. We got information on her whereabouts and immediately had a foster nearby go and look for her. What was discovered was beyond belief! Bonita was near death from being starved, completely malnourished but little did we know she had so much more going on inside her tummy that she needed urgent medical care. Fosters took her home fo the night, bathed her, fed her and put her to bed. The next morning she was rushed to the clinic placed in ICU and the testing began X-Rays after X-Rays, bloodworm, IV Fluids and just a lot of tears as to why she could of been in the shape she was in and still have that beautiful smile she always has. Her bloodwork was a huge concern because her levels were all over the place, images showed the gravel, rocks, bones and no telling what else going through her GI Tract. This was a huge concern for a bowel obstruction, she needed observation non stop while they worked on safety moving everything out of her system for days without requiring an emergency surgery. After several days Bonita started to pass everything without complications. She was placed on a series of medications to help her GI tract to recover fully and treatment for the hookworms and roundworms had been completed and cleared. This baby girl suffered beyond what we could probably ever imagine. For month she was on a Prescription only doggie food to help her system adjust. She ate so fast as if it were her last meal that she would become bloated and have severe gas. The past two months we have been able to leave automatic feeders out and she has control enough to go snack and drink anytime during the day at a reasonable pace. We do a soft food (Ground Pedigree) over dry food (Purina One Chicken or Lamb & Rice) with fresh pet and she absolutely loves it so much. Her favorite treats are the chewy Milkbones and she loves, loves the Peanut Butter filled bones that keep her busy for hours some days. She loves to play chase outside with her foster siblings and lounge around the house around them, playing with the squeaky toys. They have such a great time and it is so fun to watch them interacting together. Your welcome to look us up on Facebook to view her story and progress. We know whoever adopts her will have such a wonderful blessing. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us. God Bless!!!

Story
Buddy was hungry and going through trash when he was rescued and rehabilitated. Buddy was then transported to Paws Ranch Rescue & Animal Sanctuary. During rehabilitation, Buddy was taught to "Sit", "Laydown", "Stay", "Spin", "Drop it", "Don't bite", give his paw and to sit & wait for his food to be placed on floor then he would be released from his state of stay with words like "Ok, get it.". Buddy loves learning and is currently looking for a family to learn & grow with. Buddy is brave, vocal, obedient, snuggly, and loyal. Buddy loves people and dogs. ##1990121##

Story
Sam is a sweet-natured male roughly 19” high at the shoulder. He is healthy and lean, with a muscular figure and weighs 46 lbs and likely between 2-4 years old. Sam has been neutered and chipped; his vaccines are also up to date. Sam is playful, has lots of energy, loves to be walked, and does well on a leash. He is easy to walk and very people-oriented.  He loves his toys, plays fetch and “keep away”. He will sit up on his back legs and can shake hands. His happy and playful demeanor is most noticeable in person and makes him immediately loveable! His foster parents have been keeping Sam in their garage and letting him out back to play and go to the bathroom. He has an open crate to sleep in with bedding; he sometimes sleeps on top of the crate, sometimes inside it. He is house-trained and lets his foster parents know with a quick bark when he needs to go out to do his business. Sam’s eating habits are good. He is eating Purina Pro Plan twice a day - morning and evening.  His foster parents have several dogs that stay in the house. While Sam stays in the garage, all of the dogs go outside together sometimes. Sam gets along with the other dogs when in the backyard with them.  Sam is not suited to a home with a cat. He does not get along with them so he should not be adopted by someone with cats.  If you are interested in learning more or meeting Sam, please contact Michael McMains, mcmainsjmichael@gmail.com, (210) 831-4321. ##1997367##
