Story
Hey there! I’m Mashed Taters—a fluffy little scoop of chaos, charm, and kitten confidence! I'm at the Santa Maria Campus. I am a 2 month old, male, American Shorthair who came to SB Humane looking for a lovely home to call my own. When I’m not busy being the world’s greatest kitten athlete, you can find me flopping over for head scritches—my absolute favorite. I may be wild at playtime, but I’m extra sweet at snuggle time, and I’m ready to bring a whole lot of fun (and maybe a little mischief) to my new family. If your home could use a dollop of joy and a dash of chaos, I’m your Taters! Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Purina will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!

Story
I got Cuddy when she was a kitten from a rescue shelter, and have been her owner since. She is the sweetest and affectionate cat I have ever met. At first she may be cautious and scared but she warms up quickly and becomes so affectionate and loving. We have to find a new home for her since we are being forced to move out, we cannot provide suitable treatment for her. The right owner would give her as much love as she gives out.

Story
Acquired at Asap cats in Sept. 2024. Noodle is 3 years old on Sept 1st, 2025. Playful, energetic, and curious kitty! Would prefer home with outdoor exploring space, (catio, supervised outside time, wearable tracking device). Not a fan of cats or kids, unsure about dogs, afraid and growing. Has had problems with marking and peeing with new visitors. Needs work, tried two different daily medications. Particularly on beds and floor mats, couches and blankets. Needs lots of interaction and play time, yearns for the outdoors! She eats wet and dry food in a slow feeder, will protest by hunger strike. Early bird, loves to cuddle at night! Enjoys cat beds in secluded spaces, cat towers by the window, and litter box trained. Knows “sit” and “come” mostly when bribed(can be trained). 10lbs, responds to “Noodle”. Expressive and likes snacks! Has a sensitive stomach, eats weruva just fine, slowly introduce new foods if needed. Monitor dry food. She really is the sweetest kitty we just cannot keep.

Story
Yana is a gentle, well-behaved, 11- year old cat looking for a peaceful home. She's tidy, quiet, and deeply loyal once she bonds with you, though it can take her a few months to fully trust. She's a true one-person cat who thrives on routine and gentle companionship. Likes: - sunlight, boxes, soft blankets, plastic bags - looking out the window - eating grass Dislikes: - other cats or dogs - too much petting Pros: - very polite: no scratching, jumping, or chaos, once she's told the rules she tries her best to follow them - doesn't run away even when let outside - healthy, no major medical issues - stays calm and quiet during car rides Cons: - takes time to warm up (a few weeks to months) and likes to bond only with one person - gets hungry at 5am (an automatic feeder solves 5am meowing) - picky eater Care requirements: - needs a wet-food based diet to stay healthy (some dry food or treats ok) - needs litter box to be cleaned regularly
