You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!We are constantly being asked to help find a home for a helpless cat.  Typically it is someone is moving or the owner has died and there are only days to keep it from being tossed on the street or ending up in a kill shelter.PLEASE tell us what you are looking for in your next cat and we will process you application and call you when we have 'a fit'Thank you for caring enough to adopt instead of shop!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!November 29, 2023, 9:17 pm

I was scared and I had no where to go. I had my babies alone under a deck :(  Finally someone saw me and my babies and called 2nd Chance, but unfortunately by then I had lost one of my babies :(  Now my 3 other little ones and me are safe in the arms of 2nd Chance. I'm spayed, housetrained, had my shots and am super sweet. I love kids but I am not fond of dogs. I can tolerate cats but would prefer to be an only pet. I am ready for someone to love me FUREVERVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I have only had Boris for a month. He showed up at my doorstep one evening about a month ago. I fed him and after a little shyness he was very friendly. I brought him into my home and had him neutered, had all his vaccinations given and had him microchipped. He is extremely friendly towards me but is very territorial and did not get along with my other two cats. Boris will probably need to be an only cat or with someone who can spend considerable time to socialize him with other cats. I do not know if Boris gets along with dogs and I don't know if Boris is good with children. I don't know Boris exact age but is less than one year old by my Vets estimation. I will include a small selection of cat toys that Boris has played with since I rescued him. I just want Boris to find a new home where he is loved.

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I rescued Neil Decat Tyson when she was a kitten from the streets. We were initially told she was a he. She is a very laid back lovey dovey cat. She wants to sit on your lap and purr. She will also play fetch and responds to toys her “babies”. She loves cat nip and being brushed. She loves to give kisses and gently nibble fingers. She is very food motivated and loves wet food. She loves to “roll over” for treats and if you ask her if “are you cute”. She loves her bed and looking out windows. Sadly my son and I are increasingly allergic and can’t give her the love and pets she deserves. She great with kids, cats, and dogs. Litter trained. Trying to find someone who can love her because she’s such a rolly polly love bug of a cat. She is spayed and up to date on care.
