Mille is a sweet girl. Knows basic commands like sit, leave it, and stay. She is very energetic. Always needs to be in your face. She is good with cats but wants to herd them everywhere. She is timid against aggression. Basically she is just a love dog and for families looking for a dog to play with, that can pay attention to her and not so busy. Mille also needs someone that is good with training. She is very social with other dogs. She is housebroken and crate trained.

Story
Five month old Scooby is looking forward to finding a home that will be his! He was rescued from the streets of Bakersfield where a group of teenage boys were trying to sell him for money to go to McDonalds. We snatched up this innocent soul to give him a better life. He is currently in a foster home with another dog and family cat. Scooby is good with the cat but seems not to differentiate with his companion pal and an outdoor stray, So we would suggest Scooby be supervised when seeing a cat he does not know. Scooby loves children and plays in a gentle manner with them. He is receiving a lot of exposure such as daily neighborhood walks and car rides. Scooby is crate and house trained. If you are looking for a sweet pit (possibly mix) puppy to grow up with your family this guy would be a great fit since he seems to fit in anywhere with his mellow disposition. Please contact us through haltrescue@gmail.com for more info and adoption interest. Scooby is current on his shots and neutered and ready for a ho,e!

Story
Skye and her family of adorable 9 puppies were abandoned at our store. She is very playful , loves to run, is learning to walk on a leash and doing well. , loves to cuddle. Very affectionate . We guesstimate her age between 1-2 years old. She is actually very beautiful and her loyalty to her pups was admirable. Her puppies have all been adopted, and she is looking for her very own forever home. If any dog deserves one she rightly does. Story
Adonis is the definition of a gentle giant. He may look tough and buff, but he secretly loves to cuddle and is pretty sure he is a lap dog. He is very trainable and is working on leash manners. He loves his treats, which can be a great motivator with training. Adonis is a rescued stray, so his age is not known but estimated at 7 years old. Adonis can be good with other dogs, but gets excited and forgets how big he is, which could be intimidating to them. He would be ideal as an only pet. With his human friends, he is a pretty low-energy guy, so one walk a day in between couch cuddles and naps would suit him just fine. Adonis is happiest when he is hanging out with his people!

Story
Rowdy is an older lady, perfect for any occasion. She is just as happy chilling on the couch as she is playing and being silly. She loves water and especially loves playing with the hose. She loves swimming and enjoys a dip in the pool. She’s a very pretty gal, but her cute head tilts are her most endearing quality. Would you just look at that cute face? Her chill demeanor and short stature make her the perfect go anywhere, anytime kinda gal. Rowdy may seem shy at first, but she is nothing but love once she is comfortable. This adorable little lady would love to have you all to herself because sharing isn’t exactly her strong suit. She would be best with older kids. She is about 10 years old and has a lot of life left in her, which we wholeheartedly believe she must get to enjoy to the fullest. Don’t you agree? Are you going to be the family that completes her? Apply and come meet her to find out! Please note: All current AND previous pets (cats and dogs) MUST be up to date on vaccines and be spayed/neutered. Please check with your landlord, if you rent, for breed and weight restrictions before applying. We do not allow visitors unless you are an approved adopter. Story
Gordo is about 4 years old and does not get along with other male dogs which has resulted to multiple dog fights. Maybe due to the fact that we have his mother whom he is very protective over. So if you have male dogs i wouldn’t recommend having him around them. Gordo is very active and likes to jump on people, if you are scared of him he will start to teethe and bite, but he won’t attack people. He also likes to bite shoes. He only listens to two people and is generally calm around them, me and my 17 year old daughter that raised him. He seems to be fine with only being around female dogs and could possibly be safe to be around them if separated from his mother. If you have other animals and kids, specially small ones, i would not recommend adopting Gordo or leaving him alone with them. We are trying to get him re-homed to someone who can work with him and possibly help him with his aggressive behavior. This is our last resort , if he cannot get adopted he will get put down.
