Story
I look like a dog but I'm also part alligator. I luuurve the water, and whenever you try to give me lovins, I have perfected my gator roll belly flop. Take me to the lake or on the boat with you! I am the BIGGEST sweetheart you will ever meet - I do not know a stranger and instantly treat every person I meet like a lifelong best friend. I love to snuggle and show affection, but love going for walks, chasing toys, and enjoying adventures just as much. I have been at the shelter for 6 long months - could you be my forever family?

Story
Hey there, I'm Jib, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home! Let me give you a little peek into my world. First things first, I've got a bit of a bark to me - I just like to make my presence known! When it comes to toys, I'm all about the stuffed animals and ropes. They're just so much fun to play with! Now, when we're out for walks, I can't help but get excited when I see those pesky squirrels. I feel sort of the same with cats. I shouldn't live with cats or other small animals, they really just aren't for me. I'll be honest, I do like my personal space, so I'd prefer to be around older kids who understand that. I especially am not comfortable with kids right in my face. I can be a little hard mouthed taking treats or toys and may scare them without meaning to as well. I'm much better with adults, and I'd love to be wherever my people are. I'm a loyal shotgun rider too! I love feeling the wind in my fur as we cruise along. As for potty training, I'm still getting the hang of it, but I'm a smart pup. I'll paw at the door when nature calls, so you'll know when I need to go out. Now, when it comes to strangers, I may not be the most welcoming at first. But once I get to know you, I'm fiercely loyal and protective. I'll always have your back! When you have friends or family over go very slow with them and me so I can learn they are a part of the pack! So if you're looking for a loyal companion who's full of energy and ready for adventures, then look no further! I'm here, waiting for someone special to give me the love and care I deserve. Are you the one for me?

Story
Hey there, I'm Maya, the sweet and social Pit mix on the lookout for my forever family! At 5 years young, I've got plenty of love to give and a heart as big as can be. So, let's address the elephant in the room first - those stomach issues. Yep, I'll admit it, I've had a few accidents in the past when I've gotten into some human food. But hey, who can resist a tasty treat, am I right? On the bright side, I'm house-trained for the most part, and with a little guidance on what's off-limits, I'm sure we can keep those accidents to a minimum. Now, about my tendency to guard the younger children... Yep, guilty as charged. Sometimes I just can't help but want to keep an eye on them, especially if someone approaches too quickly. But hey, it just goes to show how much I care about my little humans! And don't worry, I'm never aggressive about it - just a bit protective. When it comes to other dogs, well, let's just say I'm a social butterfly! I've lived with small dogs before and played well with larger ones here at the shelter. I had a minor scuffle with a previous dog, though that was an intact male who was a little too interested in me. With some positive reinforcement and proper introductions, I know I can be the pawfect playmate for any furry friend. Oh, and did I mention how affectionate I am? Yep, it's true! I'm a cuddle bug through and through, and I just can't resist showering my humans with love and kisses. Plus, I'm a quick learner - I already know commands like sit and down, and I've even been crate trained in the past. Sure, I may be a tad timid in new situations, but who isn't? With a patient and loving family by my side, I know I'll gain confidence in no time. So, if you're looking for a loyal companion who's equal parts loving and lovable, look no further than me, Maya! Let's make some unforgettable memories together - I can't wait to meet you!

Story
Brad Pitt!    DOB: 9/2019     Weight: 45-50lbs   Good old Brad Pitt still waits in the shelter kennels for his furever home! Brad was originally in foster where we discovered he is house trained. He doesn’t like being crated though, and will protest by peeing all over it, so leaving him in a room with toys while gone is preferred. He has a fair amount of energy and needs regular walks and playtime throughout the week. No food or toy aggression. He knows how to sit and will take handouts nicely. He walks well on the leash and loves rolling in dirt, leaves, and fresh cut grass whenever he can. He will soak up any attention you’ll offer. Brad does need to be an only dog and he’s not the biggest fan of cats either. Kids 12+ are recommended too. He’s a sweet, loving guy, but gets carried away with loving on you. Sometimes he gets so happy and excited that he doesn’t want you to stop and will grab at your shoes. Just needs to learn when enough is enough.  His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting him please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook. Came to the shelter 3/2021. ***YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BEFORE WE DO ANY MEET AND GREETS. QUESTIONS? CONTACT pcpoundpuppies1@gmail.com Our standard adoption fee is $175 ($250 for puppies 6 months and under, or small dogs 20lbs or below) which covers a portion of the dog's vetting costs. The adoption process includes the completion of an application followed by an interview. Click here to submit an adoption application:

Story
Chico!    DOB: 10/2019    Weight: 65lbs   He looks older, but shocker, he’s only about 4 years old! Chico is a chunky, bouncy, loving dude. He’s well mannered and loves attention. Will try to crawl right up on your lap if you let him. He’s house trained and keeps a clean kennel. He loves his people and will be right up your butt if he knows you have food. He doesn’t care for cats or small dogs. He’s been ok with dogs around his size, though he’s not big into playing with others. He enjoys just wandering around and laying in the sun when he’s outside. The highlight of his shelter life is taking car rides to get ice cream!  His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. Story
Oreo!     DOB: 6/2022    Weight: will be 60lbs ish     Oreo is a young lab mix who has really come out of her shell in the last several months. She’s a people dog for sure! ALWAYS wants to be with someone. Following you, laying beside you, or sitting right on your lap. She loves food and treats so teaching her things is a lot easier. While she‘s ok with cats, she likes to be the boss dog. She has walked and played with other dogs, but she’s not too happy sharing a home with others after awhile. Oreo is house trained but does not care for the crate too much. She is fine to be left out of it when gone though. Oreo is pretty well mannered, knows some basic commands too. She‘s always down for a long car ride or snuggling up for a movie. Oreo has been to doggie daycare and enjoys it as well!  Her adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee.
