Story
This is Ozzy! I adopted him when he was 8 weeks old in Picayune. He needs a home ASAP, as we are a military family and will be moving SOON. Ozzy is a huge cuddle bug, extremely loyal, and the most loving. I have basically trained him to be an emotional support dog. He loves to go on walks and is a pro at fetch. Also loves to just chill in bed on lazy days! He has never destroyed anything in the house and we leave him to free roam. He is great with cats, and has lived with other dogs as well. He has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the family. Ozzy has been with older children and does just fine, he just has anxiety with babies+toddlers. Please reach out if you think you are the right fit for this handsome boy! 🐾

Story
Harvey is a 3 year old American Bully mix found as a stray and never reclaimed. He is a shy boy with a lower amount of energy, looking for a quiet home to come out of his shell in. Harvey was pretty scared when he was picked up by animal control. We`ve give him some time to decompress at the shelter but what he really needs is a loving home that will be patient as he transitions yet again. He`s the epitome of an underdog who needs someone to step up and rescue him! Harvey does get along with other dogs at our shelter, we do recommend you bring yours to the meet and greet so we can be sure they get along. Can you help this special pup? He is desperate for an adopter or foster to give him a loving home!Harvey is microchipped, vaccinated and will be neutered prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $35.We do have a `slumber party` program which allows you to take a dog home before adopting to see if they are a good fit for your family. There is no cost or commitment for this - we provide the supplies, you provide the love! Not sure which pet you`re interested in? Our adoption counselors will help you find the perfect fit.Come adopt from the Humane Society of South Mississippi (HSSM), a progressive animal welfare organization located in Gulfport, MS. Each year HSSM houses approximately 10,000 homeless pets. Every day we are fighting a space capacity crisis as we try to care for the overwhelming amount of abandoned local pets. Story
Opal is not just any dog; she is a symbol of resilience and joy. Rescued from a hoarding case where she lived with 26 other dogs, Opal's story is one that tugs at your heartstrings. You can see more about the situation she came from here: https://www.facebook.com/forpetssakerescue/posts/593288159729729 Opal suffered from an untreated eye infection for months. She has been treated however she does have cosmetic damages to her eyes. This poses no issue medically and Opal has great eye sight. Opal was found in a challenging environment, surrounded by many other dogs, which often led to overcrowding and limited individual attention. Despite her tough beginnings, Opal has emerged as a vibrant and energetic dog. She embodies the spirit of resilience and demonstrates that love can flourish even in the most challenging circumstances. Opal thrives on movement and play. Whether it’s running in the yard, playing fetch, or simply jumping with excitement at the sound of a leash, Opal's zest for life is infectious.   PLEASE READ THIS TO ADOPT: Completed applications take precedence over inquiries. Story
We got Lola in 2017 from a breeder in Florida. We've had her since and overall she's been a great dog. We just welcomed our second child who was diagnosed with a Urea Cycle Disorder. We knew with the second child coming it would be less time / resources for us with Lola but given our childs condition it's even more the case. Lola has typical needs that come with an English bulldog. Medicine for allergies, bathes for skin issues, daily maintenance of her skin folds etc. She is a sweetheart dog who will bring a lot of happiness to a family with the time and resources to provide it to her. We will only rehome if we feel like she will have a better situation with the new home then with us.
