Story
Skye is not only beautiful, but he is a great dog. He completed a training program and was in a foster home for a short time. Skye is a very smart dog and is looking for an active family to adopt, and a fenced in yard would be necessary. Skye would not be a good fit for a first time dog owner. Don't miss out on this great dog. By the way, Skye loves taking baths, with or without you in the tub!!!!

Story
Meet Mr. Magoo!! This charming, blind dog is one of a kind! He is approximately 10 years old and weighs 50 lbs. Originally the vet clinic thought he was around 8 years old but after further review they believe he is more like 10–11-year-old. He has a wonderful personality! Mr. Magoo was named after the volunteer's favorite cartoon! Check out the video, sampling treats at the Grateful Dog Bakery ;-). Mr. Magoo is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows his basic commands. He is a super laid-back guy. Mr. Magoo is happy chewing a bone on his dog bed or being a lap dog HA!! He is dog friendly and loves all the people he meets. Mr. Magoo does require daily eye drops, but he takes them like a champ. He navigates well and mainly hangs around his dog bed and crate. His temporary foster said he actually does not need a crate, because he does not "wander around" but he is also very comfortable in a crate. We are looking for a retirement home for him and a fenced in yard would be a HUGE bonus. He was originally rescued from the LCDK, he needed treatment for pneumonia and after he recovered Love-A-Stray had him completely vetted at the Avon Lake Animal Clinic. Please consider offering this special guy a forever home or a temporary foster home. Love-A-Stray provides everything needed for the foster program. If you are interested in Mr. Magoo, please submit an online application, so we can learn a little about you to make sure Mr. Magoo would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $50.00 If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. You can mail your donation to: Love-A-Stray, P.O. Box 125, Attn: Mr. Magoo, Avon Lake, OH 44012 or visit www.loveastraydog.com for credit card/PayPal information, adoption application, available dogs and upcoming events. Thank you!

Story
Meet Cookie! This senior pittie boy dreams of cookies every day...all day! Can't blame a guy for wanting snacks! Cookie didn't have a great first 10 years of life, so we are excited to help make the most out of his remaining years. You would never know Cookie was an outside dog for his first 8 years except for some marks on his face where he pressed his face against the fencing. Cookie is 53 pounds and in good health! Cookie is a strong guy and inquisitive. He did very well at his vet appointments and is a great car rider. Cookie is a kleptomaniac and will snag stuff to chew on that he finds appealing. So his new family will have to be diligent about that. Cookie likes chewing on bones and snuggling on blankets. He does have arthritis managed with maintenance meds and vitamins, but that is normal for his age. Cookie did well around other dogs in playgroup. He hasn't been cat tested. If you need a senior boy in your life, email therescueinn@gmail.com and complete an adoption application here: https://therescueinn.com/adoption-application.html

Story
Meet the Sweetest Boy Around – A Loving 4‑Year‑Old Looking for His New Family! This handsome 4‑year‑old pit mix is the definition of a gentle soul. He’s being rehomed through no fault of his own—his owner is facing health challenges and wants to ensure he finds a home where he’ll be cherished as much as he deserves. He has an incredibly sweet, calm, and affectionate personality. Everyone who meets him immediately comments on what a good boy he is—polite, well‑mannered, and eager to please. He’s friendly with everyone, greets new people with a wagging tail, and has a soft, loving presence that makes him easy to fall for. Cuddling is one of his favorite hobbies, and he’ll happily curl up beside you for as long as you’ll let him. He’s also very treat‑motivated, which makes bonding and training a breeze.

Story
Topper...seriously one of the sweetest, calmest, most submissive dogs I have ever met. He doesn't bark, he is not hyper, he loves to cuddle, he is submissive with other dogs and never shows any aggression even if a dog is trying to be dominant with him, and is living with cats and kittens. He was picked up by animal control with a large gash on his neck. The shelter fixed him up but then he ran out of time and was placed on the euthanasia list. I am so glad I got him out because he is the best. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $475 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95
