Everyone has heard of Scarlett O’hara from Gone with the Wind, but have you heard of Scarlett "No Hair” from MBR? Let us introduce you to the most adorable hairless Pitbull mix we’ve ever seen. Scarlett came into the rescue with a pretty bad case of mange. She has been living in her foster home and receiving treatment for her skin condition and has made so much progress over the last couple months. She will no longer be Scarlett “No Hair”, as her skin is improving and her fur is starting to come back in. She is looking more and more like a happy go lucky puppy every day. Scarlett is approximately 6 months old, 20 pounds, and is your typical puppy. She loves to play with her foster siblings and has learned to respect their boundaries. Since she is only 6 months old, she is getting better with potty training but occasionally has an accident. She does wonderfully in her crate while her foster mom is at work and during the night. She truly loves her people and likes to be touching at all times. Hopefully you have a spot in your home with Scarlett’s name on it. She’d make a wonderful addition to any family! All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 6 months as of Aug 1 Adoption fee: $500

Update 6/3/24: I passed my dog evaluation with flying colors and made 5 new dog friends! Hi .... I'm Miss Millie. I'm so grateful for Love-A-Stray because I was abandoned at Miller Road Park in Avon Lake, the ACO found me wrapped in a blanket;-(. I was taken to the Avon Lake Animal Clinic and after no one claimed me, I was turned over to Love-A-Stray. LAS had me vaccinated and I tested negative for HW. I received 2 medicated baths, ear meds and skin meds. I was underweight, but now I gained 6 lbs and I weigh 57 pounds. Dr Krupka said I'm 7 or 8 years old and my teeth look fantastic. I had some skin issues that are clearing up and I'm looking really GOOD! I'm in a great new foster home and my foster said I'm the perfect house dog!! I walk well on lead and I'm just a very sweet doggy! I would like a cat-less home. Meet Ruby Roo!! Ruby Roo is also searching for a new TEMPORARY FOSTER HOME while she waits for the perfect forever home!! Ruby Roo is a young pitty weighing about 70 lbs and she is a sweetheart. Ruby is a little shy when meeting new people but after just a little bit of time and patience she warms up, especially for a treat! Ruby Roo is house trained, crate trained, knows her basic commands...she is smart and learns fast. Ruby is fully vaccinated and spayed. Ruby Roo was found running loose, no collar or microchip. A great family took her in to keep her safe and reported finding her to all the required agencies, but no one was looking for this sweet girl ;-(. They contacted Love-A-Stray to help find her a forever home. She has the funniest way of laying with her paws tucked under, as shown in photo, maybe she is praying for her new home! Ruby would do best with a male dog friend or as the only dog. Her current foster has older dogs and Ruby Roo has the typical energy of a young dog, so she is looking for a new foster or home where she can run and play. Ruby would love a fenced yard but is it not required. She has lots of energy and at 70 pounds could knock a toddler down, so we are looking for an active home with children over the age of 10 years old. This beautiful 2 year old brindle beauty is Violet! Violet is a 2 year old pittie and is full grown at 60 lbs. Violet has such a beautiful soul! She's a very shy girl, but once you spend some time with her and get that first tail wag, your heart will just melt. Violet recently went to the vet and did great at her appointment! It was her first time going to the vet ever, because in her past life she was used for breeding and never got medical done. Violet was quiet and stoic getting all of her shots and even her heartworm test done which was negative. Good job, Violet! Violet recently moved into a foster home where is is doing great!
