Story
Luke's story is a long one. Luke had been consistently roaming his neighborhood for months to the point that everyone thought he was a reclusive stray. Every time we responded to a call that he was out, we could never find him. When we were finally able to catch him and bring him back to the shelter, he was left unclaimed. Luke had been living in a home with quite a few of younger kids, though we do not know how he truly is with kids. Here's what we do know: He's lived a very sheltered life and is not doing well in the shelter environment. He's very stressed. Luke seems to be somewhat dog selective so as of right now, would do best in a foster/adoptive home with no other animals. We will continue to further evaluate him with other dogs. He does seem to be mostly potty trained, as he will have an occasional accident. Other than that, Luke is very affectionate with the people that he knows, and loves to snuggle or play with them.

Story
This sweet, free-spirited girl is the total package — cuddly, friendly, curious, and just the right amount of goofy! Lola loves making new friends (both two- and four-legged) and has a heart as big as her personality. Whether she’s exploring the yard, snuggling on the couch, or making you laugh with her silly antics, she’s happiest just being near her people. Lola recently graduated with honors from our STAR Inmate Training Program, where she mastered her basic obedience and showed just how smart and eager to please she is. She’s a free-spirited pup who loves adventure but is just as happy to curl up for snuggles at the end of the day. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who will make you smile every single day, Lola is your girl. Apply to meet her today at carerescueok.org!         ##2539835##

Story
Nova is a pit bull. She is almost 3 years old. She was born on May 5, 2018. She weighs 67 pounds. Nova has a sister named Athena. They have lived their whole life together, never spending a single day apart. She was taken into the rescue when she was only 10 months old. Sadly, she has spent most of her life at the rescue. At 5 weeks Nova and Athena were put in with a German Shepard and two Labradors and left to live in horrible living conditions. The only interaction they had with people would be once a day when they got fed. The other dogs have been adopted. But being so young, Nova and Athena developed an unbelievable bond together. They never fight over anything, whether it be a toy or food. They will both curl up together in the same dog house. Because of their bond, we will only allow them to be adopted together. They are both crate trained, up to date on all shots, spayed, and microchipped. The adoption fee for each is $125. They deserve to know what life is beyond the rescue. If you would like them to know a loving home, please fill out an adoption application!
