Story
My name is Callie. I am a three year old Staffordshire Terrier. I am DESPERATE for a forever home! I try to be have but heartbreak is what I feel inside! In the last 8 months, I've been in 6 different places..... Discarded, shuffled and bounced around. This is due to no fault of my own. Everyone that promised to take care of me completely let me down. One person beat me, making me slow to warm up to new people. I eventually found myself in a shelter where I was going to be killed because I didn't do well in a noisy kennel. There has been so much pain and chaos! I just need a forever HOME to call my own! I need a home with patient, loving people who understand that I need time to bond and trust because of all the hurt and uncertainty I have been through! I need a home with NO OTHER ANIMALS! I need to be your one and only pet. I am spayed, and up to date on shots, as well as micro chipped. I love walks and am learning good leash manners, and LOVE SWIMMING in safe places. I have been raised around kids, but because of my behavioral status, I am not recommended for kids younger then 12. I love to play ball – I'll fetch it over and over, but still learning to give it back sometimes, and I love sleeping in bed with you, just as close as I can snuggle! I love being with my human but can be a good girl and not tear anything up while I wait for you to come home. I am also crate trained and even though will hesitate when I first come home, will go in nicely and am fairly quiet in one. PLEASE – could you give me a forever home that I desperately need? I have so much love to give and have opened up even at the rescue I am in. If you think you can give me the home I need, contact the rescue from here, they will get back to you quickly.

Story
Peaches is a 6.5 yr old female American Staffordshire Terrier. She has gone through 4 months of training for dog aggression and can pass by most dogs with little to no problems. She does get along with most dogs but resource guards with toys, food, and bones. She has even resource guarded water in another crate. So we recommend Peaches to be an only dog. Otherwise she is ready for adoption. Peaches doesn't seem to be bothered by cats, but we haven't fully free roam tested her with such.

Story
Luna has opened up here and loves people. She does well with our kennel dogs through panels. We had a meet and greet with a dog at a month and a half on her hold by a couple that was willing to wait for her hold and eval, she did great on leash with the dog in the play yard, but when a toy was introduced, she curled her lip and gave a low growl. This could of been due to her still being stressed from her new environment, she just didn't like that dog, or even been in play but we didn't know her that well then. We are in the process of re-evaluating her with other dogs and toys, bones, and food, to see if out in the open she could be resource guarding or not. We will update her profile as we learn more.

Story
Meet Noah! Noah was found along with his sister Noelle abandoned on the streets of southern CA, suffering from mange and untreated skin infections. Despite Noah's rough start to life he is bursting with love and affection and has not lost any trust in humans. Noah is around 9 months of age and a pit bull mix type pup. Noah is being treated for his demodex mange ( not contagious)  and well on his way to looking and feeling his best. He is currently here at our facility and is learning all kinds of good things. Noah is working on his crate training, potty training, and socilization. Noah can be unsure of some dogs at first, but once he knows they are friendly he enjoys playing. Noah is still learning appropriate play and boundaries around other dogs and does well with other well balanced female dogs, his size or larger at this time. Noah can be a sensitive guy and is working on building some confidence. Noah's ideal home would be with a person or family, who can continue his training, socialization and set clear boundaries for him so he can mature into a well balanced adult dog. For more informtation or to submit an adoption application please visit our website at northwestdogproject.org.  Adoption fee includes - spay/neuter, microchip & chip registration, UTD vaccines, de-worming, flea treatment, heartworm testing.  ##1947717##

Story
Meet Elvis! He originally came into our care a few years ago, and sadly due to someunexpected circumstances with his adopter, Elvis has made his way back into our care. This handsome blue suede bully earned his moniker after the King of Rock n' Rolls famous lip curl.  And lucky for Elvis (and his future family), our vet confirmed that he has a cleft lip (not a cleft palate), so he gets to rock all the cuteness of his wonky, tooth-exposed smile, without any of the breathing or eating complications that come with a cleft palate!  We will be updating more on his personality and what he's looking for in a home as we learn a bit more about where he's at these days. Stay tuned! Elvis would do best in a home with...Cats : Nope! Dogs : Well-balanced females only, please!  Kiddos : Older kiddos (10+)! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. To be considered as Elvis' forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Follow us on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! Story
Meet Jake This handsome man is Jake Gyllenpaws. Jake is a real model and is good at stealing hearts with his good looks. His foster mom says Jake has the “model look” to him. He lays down and when you stop petting him, he looks back at you with "Blue Steel." Of course, this look often ends with more pets and kisses for the sweet boy. How could you not just love all over this boy? Jake loves to cuddle on the couch and be by your side soaking up all the love. After being stuck in the shelter, Jake has been working so hard on his doggie manners and wants to show you how far he's come. He can sit, lie down, and has been working on learning to stay. He is potty trained and loves to be outside in a yard with his family. He doesn’t much care for the crate, but his foster family is committed to showing him it can be a pawsitive place. Jake is a gentle boy and sensitive. After his last vet visit, he looked quite sad, so his foster mom took him to get a pup-cup and it made him very happy again. Jake will require continued spoiling and love, as he deserves the best. Jake is living with 2 other dogs in his foster family and loves having play mates. They get along very well outside of treat time. Jake would prefer not to share. It’s likely best to feed Jake separately from other resident dogs since he’s still learning that sharing is caring. This Jake Gyllenpaws isn’t a fan of cats. A home without felines is best for him. Jake is a Velcro boy and loves to be with his family. His human foster brother is turning out to be his best friend. Jake is learning to be gentle with him because he gets so excited when he sees him. Although Jake hasn’t met any smaller children, we think he would do well with kids over 10. He does like zoomies and with his zest for life, he may knock over the smaller ones trying to play. Sweet Jake is a real lap dog at heart and loves being by your side. If you're looking for an energetic and loving pup to join your family, Jake Gyllenpaws could be the perfect match for you!
