Story
Jeffrey was so afraid when he first came to the Newberry County Animal Shelter…liked to hide under the desk of one of our very compassionate ACO’s…when I first met him….it took a lot of coaxing to just get him to accept a treat. Well, it really didn’t take long to gain his trust & he loves being outside! He also loves sticking to your side for pets & reassurance. It always breaks my heart a little when one of the pups flinch at the most gentle touch, but he’s learning that our hands are always gentle. He’s trusting again & loves affection. Has kisses for all dogs, children & adults he passes now. He is a young 2 1/2 years old male Staffordshire terrier mix heartworm negative.

Story
www.pet-tender.com/adoptionform.htm   P-nut is an adorable little miniature Am Staff.  He was born with deformed front legs which cause him to walk on his elbows.  He does well and other than not being able to move fast, he can live a normal life.  He is a sweet fellow that was not socialized well early on in life so is very shy until he has a chance to get to know you.  He does well with other dogs but is slow to play with them.  He is a deserving boy with alot of fun and smiles and love to give someone.  His tail is always wagging!  Please don't let his handicap keep you from meeting him if you think you might be interested.   He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.  We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here. September 27, 2023, 2:22 pm

Story
This sweet guy is Oreo! He is currently 3 years old. He was about 4 months old when we adopted him from the shelter where he was born (his exact birthday is 8-15-2020). He has since grew-up alongside his puppy brother Rolo and two tiny human siblings. He is an inside/outside dog who is house-trained and knows a few tricks. He is vigilant, keeping the home safe. He's a playful pup who loves spending most of his time outside, so we prefer that his new home also has a yard for him. Oreo is instinctual and the first to try and comfort the kids when they are upset. He does a great job at following commands. Oreo is a lovable, sensitive, snuggly, quirky, pup and we hope to find him a great home that reflects the same values.

Story
Meet Walla WallaMale Boxer/Shepard DOB: 05/25/2023Adoption Fee: $275.00Adoptable NOWTall, Dark & Handsome... a real dreamboat with the prettiest eyes ever according to Miss Lisa! Well maybe not so tall but the rest would be me Walla Walla here! Me & my siblings came in to LCHS Center on National Onion Ring Day so we are all names a type of Onion! I went on a fieldtrip to downtown Clinton yesterday to help welcome back the PC students and I had all the females attention! I was surrounded the whole time but no one came for me today? I have lots of love to give and will play or watch TV with you! Everyone wanted to pet me & my brother Chive so Miss Lisa is stumped as to why we are even still here rather then in our very own homes with our furever people. She tells us we will make the best Pets ever! Come and meet My brother and I even if to just play awhile! All our adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, dewormed, UTD on age appropriate Vaccines & started on Flea Preventatives. Felines are also FIV/FELK tested. All Canines are started on Heartworm Preventatives and if 6 months or older they are tested for Heartworm Disease.Reminder: We do not DNA test our animals since it is costly and takes several weeks. Breeds are determined by what their owner tells us, physical characteristics, traits and app scans. Nor will we ever say an animal is a purebred even if we suspect or told by the owner. Choosing an animal to adopt should be based on interacting with the animal and not by breed standards. The only definite way to determine any breed is by doing a DNA test.WE ARE OPEN for visitors from 12PM - 4PM Tuesday -Friday and 12PM-3PM on Saturdays or by APPOINTMENT at other times. Please contact us for an appointment if you would prefer a FACE MASK ONLY Visit. We suggest calling prior to visiting our adoption center to ensure the animal you wish to meet is here at our Center (some are in foster care) and still available. If you want to meet an animal that is being fostered an approved application & appointment is required first.Applying does not commit you but rather gives you approval to meet & adopt if you choose to.ONCE APPROVED WE WILL CALL/EMAIL YOU - APPROVALS CAN TAKE A FEW DAYS** WEEKEND APPLICANTS **WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAY & MONDAY THUS YOU WILL NOT HEAR BEFORE TUESDAYONLY ONE APPLICATION NEEDED If interested in more than one pup just put all the names on one application. If you already have an approved application then just email us at lchsmanager@gmail.com to tell us you which animals you want your approved application applied to.All our pets are posted online and we continue to take applications until they are actually adopted. Many times things change and an approved adopter does not adopt the animal so we do maintain a wait list when necessary. Please do not visit if you or anyone in your household have had symptoms of COVID 19 or been around anyone that you know has been positive or experienced symptoms within past 14 days. It is of the utmost importance that our staff stays healthy so our pets can be taken care of.APPLY HERE: https://form.jotform.com/202887123155152
