Stray; HW+; 3/12; 55lbs; bully mix; 5 yrs old. Arrived pregnant. Sadly, all of her pups died shortly after birth.Volunteer Update July 24: VOTED staff/volunteer FAVORITE! 💖 ""I know I keep saying this about Dottie, but what a perfect girll. She is one of the sweetest and most gentle dogs I have ever met. She adopted another dog's puppies as her own and was an awesome mom to them. I have nothing but good to say about her. She is wonderful and so grateful for a bit of love! She is the BEST! Somebody has to be waiting on her! How is she not adopted yet?! She is one of my favorite dogs to take on a walk and give treats! Miss Dottie is all smiles and kisses! LOVE! Dottie has been with us since March when she arrived very pregnant. Sadly, she lost her pups, but she accepted another litter as her own and raised 5 beautiful babies. Her days of mothering are done and she is ready to be YOUR spoiled little lady. You cannot ask for a better companion than Ms. Dottie. She is around 55lbs, 5 years old and heartworm positive. Let's get her out of here, please!"

Story
August 31: Do redheads have more fun? Just ask our pretty lady Farrah! Farrah is a super fun, happy girl always on the hunt for a good time. Solid and strapping at 52lbs, she along with her best friends (1 male and 2 female dogs) were seized by the sheriff due to concerns for their overall care. Luckily for Farrah, her only health concern is testing positive for heartworms and is at a good, appropriate weight- which was not the case for all of her friends. We enjoyed Farrah's upbeat personality and her desire to catch that next slice of adventure just right around the corner! Farrah is a very sweet, snuggly, affectionate lady who is generous with her kisses, hip swivels and her playful antics. She did well in testing with other dogs, both male and female. She is confident and eager to meet other dogs and happily trots over to say ""hi"" with a full, wagging tail and grin on her face. Farrah keeps the good times rolling right along and would be nicely suited in a more active home where she can get out and stretch her legs. Don't forget to have a nice soft spot where she can rest her pretty head and sleek, toned body! TREATED FOR HEART WORMS.

Buddy is everything you love about a dog in need that gets rescued from the side of the road. He is so loving and so grateful. He couldn't be sweeter or more appreciative of every bit of help and attention he receives. He is just a great guy! He has doggie friends at his foster home and plays well with all sizes. He is also good with kids. He enjoys snuggling by your side, lap cuddles, head scratches and belly rubs. He gives great kisses and hugs. Buddy's name suits him just perfectly, as we hope he can now become someone's faithful fur buddy forever. Would you like to meet him?

Story
Do nice guys always have to finish last? Well, our super nice bully mix MIKEY surely hopes not. Aged at just 2-3 years, Mikey has a middle age ""feel"" to him perhaps attributable to an older, self healed break in his hip? Surely that took a toll on his body but he's not letting that get him down and he's just the most pleasant guy in the county. Soft and snuggly and really enjoying his time relaxing and chilling with his new human friends and perhaps by the side of a new favorite lady dog friend, we found Mikey to be charming and personable. Despite his injured hip, Mikey still gets around pretty well. We found that he tired more quickly after frolicking with his new pretty lady dog friends off leash so he would opt out of some of the action and politely relax in a shady spot. Mikey really enjoys one on one attention from his new human friends (he likes draping in laps and getting nuzzly) and then also engaging with and interacting with female doggies. He was a bit nervous/tense around male dogs- not sure if it's because he feels more vulnerable with his back hip injury. Mikey earned high marks from his human and female doggy friends as he's so sweet, good natured and literally smiled non stop during his photo session. Solid doggy work Mr Mikey! We believe good guys don't finish last and we're working hard on your behalf to find your new home. Note: No cats for Mikey. Foster update Feb 2023 Mikey has been with me for close to 6 months. In that time, he has shown a perfect mix of playfulness and being laid back based on the people around him. Mikey loves being out in the sun, either playing catch or laying out getting a tan. But by the time the sun goes down, you can find him passed out in his favorite spot in the recliner. He has a self healed broken hip but he doesn’t let that slow him down one bit. He’s been tested with other dogs and has done great. He also does great with kids!

Story
Who was the sweetest gal at our adoption event at Tractor Supply? RUBY! She always had a home and shared it with a chihuahua. She was surrendered when her family moved away. She has been waiting for much too long now to get her chance back into a family, and we have no idea why someone hasn't scooped her up yet. SHARE her, please! She is a delight! She is beautiful and oh so sweet. She absolutely adores her humans and is good with kids. She likes dogs too. If you don't have any, that's fine with her. All she really needs is you and a great toy or 2 and this girl will be in heaven. She loves toys and self entertains. No cats for Ruby. She's 4 years young, 56lbs and heartworm negative. Let's get her back into a loving furever HOME, please.Judy came prancing out of that dog run, happy as can be to get out for a walk. She had some play time to herself for a few minutes and was delighted to find a squeaky ball that everyone in the area knew about very quickly. She loved marching around to the rhythm of the squeak. Judy met male and female dogs very politely but was not really interested in running around with them. In her prior home she had a chihuahua sibling so this meet and greet was not new for her. She has a nice energy level and mostly enjoyed the people and attention from them, and she really loved the toys! I’m sure that is one of many things she has missed from being in a home. Judy is anxious to find her new family and into getting those regular snuggles and pets again. Please give this girl a good look! She's a 4 year old playful girl, who's always eager to play with some new toys. She reacts well to other dogs and is open to meeting new people after she's been introduced. She's curious about her surroundings and ready to explore.

Story
Big dog lovers, where ARE you?? ""Easiest dog you'll ever have. Give him a toy to carry around in his mouth and he'll self entertain for hours, if not days,"" offers up a volunteer as she observed PLUTO'S keen desire for toys and his incredible ability to just have a blast with a simple toy! We LOVE this big guy and if you are a big dog kind of person, Pluto is the one for you! Pluto is friendly, goofy, silly and just a delight to have by your side. He loves playing run and fetch with humans and in a group of dogs, he seamlessly meets them, weaves in and around them and then goes about his happy way. Very much a carefree spirit, Pluto is an athletic guy who can have some umph to him so a stronger person will most appreciate his get up and go and do drive. Loaded with personality, Pluto is one smile making, genuine fellow that finds fun no matter where he goes. He's our pick for most likely to steal your heart and weasel his way into your lap! Update… This boy reminded me of my dog Red. He is all about the ball. While we normally do not have any toys out when we are assessing Pluto had a tennis ball from when he was in the area alone. He did not want to give the ball back. He was more than happy to meet other dogs; with the ball in his mouth. He was a hoot and definitely enjoyed his time out.
