Story
Meet Travis Friendly, Playful, and Ready to Grow Into Your Best Friend Breed: Pit Bull / Staffordshire Terrier Mix Gender: Male | DOB: January 18, 2026 | Weight: 40 lbs | Expected Size: Medium-Large Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Kids ✔️ | Cats: Unknown Personality: Playful | ❤️ Friendly | Social | Happy Medical: ✔️ Neutered | ✔️ Vaccinations Up to Date Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality & Breed Information Travis is a handsome 7-month-old Pit Bull/Staffordshire Terrier mix who currently weighs about 40 pounds. He's a friendly, playful young dog with plenty of growing, learning, and loving still ahead of him. Travis is at such a fun age. He's no longer a tiny puppy, but he's still very much a youngster discovering the world. He'll need a family ready to enjoy his playful personality while also helping him develop into a well-mannered adult dog. As a Pit Bull/Staffy mix, Travis may share traits commonly associated with these breeds, including being affectionate, people-oriented, playful, loyal, athletic, and enthusiastic about spending time with their families. At 40 pounds at only seven months old, Travis should be considered a medium-to-large breed dog, although his exact adult weight cannot be guaranteed. His ideal family should be ready to provide him with: Daily walks and age-appropriate exercise Playtime and enrichment Positive-reinforcement training Continued socialization Consistent household rules and boundaries Mental stimulation Plenty of affection and family time Travis isn't looking for somewhere to simply finish growing—he's looking for the family he'll grow up with. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect At seven months old, Travis is entering adolescence, an important stage for continued training and social development. Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so adopters should be prepared to continue working on house training as needed, leash manners, basic commands, recall, calm greetings, appropriate play, and household boundaries. Because Travis is becoming a bigger, stronger dog, teaching good manners now will help set him up for success as an adult. Training should remain positive, consistent, patient, and rewarding. Young dogs need repetition, and mistakes are part of learning. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to understand his new household routine 3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home Travis may be friendly and outgoing, but he still deserves time to adjust to his new surroundings and learn what is expected of him. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Travis is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. His future family should continue routine veterinary wellness exams, recommended vaccine boosters, flea/tick/heartworm and parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, grooming and nail care, and veterinary treatment whenever needed. As a growing medium-large breed puppy, Travis should receive age-appropriate exercise and nutrition while his body continues developing. His veterinarian can help guide his family on healthy growth, body condition, diet, and exercise as he matures. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Travis, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Ozzie and Friends Rescue is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs in need and helping them find safe, loving forever homes. While based in Southern California, we coordinate safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Adopting a young dog like Travis means committing not only to the adorable puppy in front of you today, but also to the adult and senior dog he'll eventually become. Travis is friendly, playful, growing fast, and ready for his next chapter. Give him the training, adventures, security, and love every young dog deserves, and you'll get something pretty wonderful in return—the chance to watch your puppy grow into your lifelong best friend.
