ABOUT:
Neptune is a striking grey, medium-coated boy around 1–2 years old with a big body and an even bigger personality! This extra-large (17+ lbs and still growing into that muscular frame!) sweetheart is currently being fostered in Schererville IN, and has been charming his foster family since October 2025.
Neptune is energetic, curious, silly, and outgoing. He loves to play — whether it’s wrestling with other cats, chasing balls, batting toys on strings, or swatting at moving objects on the TV or walls. He plays rough sometimes, but he’s very deliberate about not hurting anyone. He just gets excited! He especially enjoys having other cats or people to interact with and would likely thrive in a home with multiple companions.
Though he’s a big, strong guy (and may resist being put into his carrier!), Neptune has a soft side. He doesn’t love being picked up, but once you’re settled, he’ll happily come sit near you — or even on you. He enjoys head and belly pets (paws are off-limits, please!) and likes to perch on his cat tree, your bed, or the couch. He also loves watching birds and wildlife from the window and observing whatever you’re doing around the house. You’ll often find him following you from room to room, supervising your daily tasks.
Neptune has been exposed to children (including a 10-year-old) and does great with them. He’s playful and social but respectful of boundaries with other cats. While he hasn’t met dogs yet, his confident, active personality suggests he wouldn’t be easily bothered. He uses a walk-in, top-entry litter box like a pro and prefers scratching carpeted surfaces on a cat tree.
A typical day for Neptune includes greeting you in the morning, napping and bird-watching during the day, then revving up for playtime in the evening. He enjoys dry food, isn’t treat-motivated, and doesn’t rush his meals. After dinner, he’s ready to socialize before eventually settling down near bedtime.
Neptune would do best in an active home with space to move, toys to chase, and people (or animals) to interact with. He loves attention but also appreciates having a quiet place to recharge.
If you’re looking for a large, lovable, entertaining companion who will play hard, watch nature documentaries with you, and be your loyal household supervisor, Neptune is your guy.
