Story
Hi, I’m Hope. I’m a 7-month-old, 48-pound Anatolian Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix, and my name feels especially fitting right now, because hope is exactly what I have for my future. I’m a beautiful but shy girl who was recently surrendered and found myself in a loud, crowded shelter. I didn’t understand what was happening or why everything around me had suddenly changed. Thankfully, Paws Fur Recovery came to my rescue and gave me a safe place to land. On my first day, I was very unsure of everything. There were new people, new sounds, and a new environment, and all I wanted to do was lie quietly in my kennel. I wasn’t quite ready to trust that everything was going to be okay. But the directors and staff at Paws Fur Recovery could see that I needed a little extra love and reassurance. They were patient with me and gave me the time I needed to feel safe. Then they introduced me to some younger puppies, and something began to change. Being around them made me feel comfortable, and little by little, I started coming out of my shell. I’m beginning to realize that there are good things ahead for me. I know I’m in good hands while I’m here, and every day I’m learning that I can trust again. But this is only one stop in my journey. What I really want is a loving family of my very own—a family who will be patient with me, help me continue to build my confidence, and show me that I never have to wonder where I belong again. I’m Hope, and I’m hoping my forever family is out there waiting for me. Adoption Fee: $395 Please Note: All potential adopters must be open to a home check and provide vet records to confirm that any dogs in the household are spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations. Story
This gorgeous young gal needs your help!! Maggie is only 2 years old and unfortunately, she’s been diagnosed with heartworms.Although that sounds scary, heartworms aren’t contagious and can be treated!Maggie starts treatment in just a few weeks, and if we don’t find her a home before then, she’ll spend her entire treatment with us. That’s why we’d LOVE to get her into a home as soon as possible! The good news? The sooner you bring her home, the sooner you can get to know her, learn all her little quirks, and enjoy some fun with her BEFORE treatment starts!  And fear not, H.A.L.O. will cover her heartworm treatment through our foster-to-adopt program! She’s an Anatolian Shepherd mix, so she’s smart, energetic, and loves having things to do. She LOVES treats, toys, and apparently socks too, so you might want to hide those!Because of her size and enthusiasm, she can sometimes be a little more… bulldozer than graceful. For that reason, a home with kids 8+ would be best. She does well with other dogs, but she’s made it very clear that she is NOT a cat person.  Maggie is currently used to using potty pads. In a new home, she may need to learn how to ask to go outside and get used to a new routine. But she’s young, smart, and we think she’ll catch on pretty quickly! She’s also used to having free run of the house whether her humans are home or not, so she’s already got that part down! And when it’s time to relax? She’ll happily jump onto your couch or bed and cuddle right up with you. If Maggie sounds like your kind of pup, please fill out an adoption application!Requirements: Foster to adopt ; Heartworms, Martingale CollarArrived at H.A.L.O. on 8/11/2026All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.
