Story
Charlie and his siblings Dennis, Dee, and Mac have an always sunny disposition. They are spunky, happy friendly and curious. Their favorite past time is hanging out by one of the ponds. They don't quite swim yet but definitely love water. Great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. Love to cuddle. Do not love being a crate though. They will each make perfect family dogs or adventure buddies for a single person or couple. They are some of the best puppies I've ever met. They were surrendered to a small rural shelter as an accidental litter. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: lifetime free microchip, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, too young/small for neuter and heartworm test. Story
Mac and his siblings found themselves at a small rural shelter with no foot traffic so we got them out. Mac is curious and independent and loving and adventurous. He loves water and he spends most of his day exploring the woods and ponds on the property. He is super smart too. His siblings are all fluffier than he is and look more shepherd like than he does. He has more of a heeler look in terms of coloring and shape but based on their sizes and their growth since I got them, I believe they will be big dogs. Big, happy, friendly, loving dogs. He is about 4 months old. Story
At 3.5 years old, Cash is full grown Anatolian Shepherd mix and currently tips the scales at 70 pounds. Cash is a magnificent and charming boy looking for a home where he can enjoy the company of people without being overwhelmed by constant attention. With his large, striking presence, Cash has a calm and confident demeanor that makes him an absolute pleasure to be around. He is the kind of dog who loves spending time with his humans, but he appreciates a little personal space to relax and recharge. Cash would be a great sidekick and companion in a low-key atmosphere. While Cash may not be the type to shower you with non-stop affection, he will always be there when you need him, offering companionship and quiet loyalty. His ideal home is one where he can feel part of the family without the pressure of constant cuddles—just some good quality time, a walk here and there, and some relaxed moments together. Cash enjoys the company of other dogs and is fostered in a home with several other dogs, old and young, large and small. He has a great calm and confident vibe about him. He is accepting of children that allow him space with quiet and calm interactions. Cash is too interested in cats for their liking so he will need a home that does not have feline companions. Cash does enjoy outdoor adventures and car rides. A mix of both in his life would be alright with him. Cash is a very smart boy and quick learner. He has already mastered his house training and crate training skills. He is working on his leash walking skills and with practice, he will be a champ in no time. It is important to remember that although Cash is housetrained, accidents can still occur while adjusting to a new home environment. If you are looking for a big-hearted boy who will enjoy your company, check out Cash! He is waiting for a calm and loving home where he can show you what a wonderful companion he truly is. * Please keep in mind when considering adoption, dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust significantly better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Cash is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Basil Basil is #6 of our 10 'Spice Pups.' This sweet boy is by far the largest of the litter, easily double the size of some of his siblings. He is a big, clumsy baby, and oh-so sweet! Basil loves to play, but also loves to be cuddled! While he is very playful, he is not quite as energetic as some of his siblings. He has short bursts of energy, followed by long cuddle sessions. We dont know the breed of these puppies, they are all different, so there's probably more than 1 'daddy' involved. Mom is very mixed. I believe Basil to be an Anatolian Sheperd mix. His coat is longer than most of his siblings' coats, and he has a much heavier, thicker build. He will likely be around 75 lbs when grown, but this is just a guess based on her current size and build. He is precious and sweet and he is going to make a great addition to a family! He is good with kids, cats, and other dogs. Currently 8 weeks old at the time of this post, and weighs about 14 lbs. Basil is located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 Message us or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions. He is neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Please visit our Facebook page too! https://www.facebook.com/adoptastrayrescueorg For more info regarding adopting, email apps.aasr@gmail.com Thank you for considering one of our rescue babies!November 27, 2025, 6:09 pm
