Hi! My name is Swenson! I am pretty new at the kennel and the staff/volunteers are still getting to know me, but here is some basic information: I`m about 2 years old and currently weigh 64 lbs. I am a sweet, playful and snuggly pup! I am looking for my forever home so if you think I may be your new best friend, please visit the website to request a meet: www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydogSwenson tested positive for heartworm when he arrived at the kennel but fortunately, heartworm is treatable and cost is covered thanks to Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland. Swenson will just need a calm, loving home where he can rest and recover before he can get back to living his normal life.

*** BREED EXPERIENCED OWNERS ONLY, PLEASE *** 'NASH' is a handsome, 3 yr. old, 75 lb. German/Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix male, that has 'double dew claws' on his back legs. Nash is a big couch potato and a silly boy. Nash knows basic commands: sit, wait, break (release), come and shake, and he will gladly practice each for a treat or a meal. Nash is a sweet, smart, affectionate and obedient boy, but initially leery of strangers. On leash, without distractions, he is a good boy and a pleasure to walk. Nash likes to play fetch and loves his treats, both which are great ways to win him over, make him more comfortable, and begin bonding. Nash warms to you and loves being petted, sitting next to you, and just basically 'hanging out'. Nash's optimal home would be a quiet, low stimulation one with a confident, calm, breed-experienced owner willing to help him build confidence as he matures and knows how to positively direct and mitigate/manage the breed characteristic traits of guard dogs through exercise, training and positive reinforcement techniques. (He is both highly food motivated as well as praise driven). A home with high energy, volume or traffic would not suit Nash, so children would not a good fit with him. Nash loves other dogs, especially playful females. Through a fence he may bark, but then run alongside with others. He has a strong prey drive and is territorial, so he needs a fenced in yard. Nash is neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, on monthly heart-worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not do its own 'shots' ... all medical care is done by a licensed, certified Veterinarian or done under their direct supervision (ex., monthly heartworm treatments &/or deworming). All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., probiotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition. This is Ruie , they originally named her Blue. Ruie is very affectionate and loves family time as I call it sitting on the couch watching TV at the end of the night. She also loves to play catch, with her frisbee and with her tennis balls, she is a natural, and is very energetic she loves to be outside in summer and in winter, she loves the snow and loves to sunbathe. She is attached to her stuffed animals which she gets at least four new ones a week and loves to get the squeaker out of them .She plays very well with our neighbor kids next-door. .. 216-205-2647. (440)655-5416 the family is unable to keep the dog because of their long hours and we're trying to find another wonderful home for her
