If you were to read the recipe for Swenson, it would include only 3 ingredients: earnestness, squishy jowls, and all-natural/organic derp.At two-years old, this guy has the derptastic enthusiasm of a giant puppy, and he`s never met a toy (or person, or treat) he didn`t like. He`s ridiculously squishy, especially those extra-squishy jowls, and it`s hard to resist squeezing and smushing on him. He`s active and playful but also loves to snuggle and give kisses. He`s earnest AF and always happy to meet (or re-meet) your acquaintance. Despite all his derp, he`s actually a bit of a smarty-pants and knows several commands already, including sit, down, and both paws. He`s charmingly klutzy and klutzily charming, and he`s done well with other dogs — this handsome shepherd was playful and social for his dog-assessment.Sadly, Swenson tested positive for heartworm when he arrived at the kennel, but he definitely doesn`t let it slow him down. Fortunately, heartworm is treatable and the cost is covered thanks to Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland. Swenson will just need a chill and loving home where he can rest and recover from his heartworm treatment once adopted.He also has a rear gait suggestive of mild hip dysplasia (which his breed is prone to), but since he`s still young and growing, the impact this will have on him as he gets older has yet to be determined — it`s recommended, however, that he should be kept at a lean, healthy body condition which he`s certain to do in a home that allows him to burn off all that puppy energy in positive, healthy ways!Despite having to overcome some hurdles, Swenson is one happy happy boy, and he refuses to let life get him down. This optimistic pup is about 2 years old and weighs around 65lbs.
