Story
🐾 River is Looking for a Forever Home! River is a sweet, high-energy boy who needs a home that matches his drive. He thrives with active owners who enjoy walks, hikes, and outdoor time, or a farm lifestyle where he can run and explore. River does best in a quiet, low-chaos home with structure and routine. He’s athletic, intelligent, and eager to learn, but needs consistent exercise and guidance to stay balanced. He’s the perfect match for someone who lives an active lifestyle, understands high-drive dogs, and wants a loyal companion to join their adventures. A farm or property would be ideal for him to truly thrive. If you’re interested in meeting River or learning more, send a message. He deserves a home that understands his energy and gives him the space and love he needs. 💙🐾

Story
Shepard was born early April, 2023. He was our first family dog. He is playful and loyal. He loves hiking, playing fetch, and going for runs. He has camped, swam, and hiked his whole life and thoroughly benefits from play. He plays well with other dogs at the dog park and has been great with our young children since we got him. He is also incredibly smart, memorizing patterns quickly and good with training. Shepard is closer to the wife than husband or two kids, but has bonded equally with us others;) His favorite routine is before bed: goes for his last walk before he gets in his bed with a treat. For a new home we are looking for someone who enjoys outdoor activities. An active family who, if they have children, have children who respect dogs and have good manners. A family or couple who are active and care for animals would be a perfect fit.

Story
Surrey arrived at the shelter as a pregnant stray and bravely raised her puppies right here in our care. Now that all her babies have found their homes, it’s finally Surrey’s time to step into the spotlight and find a family of her own.We believe Surrey is an Anatolian Shepherd mix, and true to her breed, she is a large, powerful dog with strong protective instincts. Because of this, she will need an experienced adopter who understands guardian breeds and can provide confident, consistent leadership. Surrey is incredibly sweet with people she trusts—she adores being pet and brushed, welcomes affection, and has a soft, loving presence once she bonds with you.Surrey does have some particular needs:She can be selective with other dogs and would do best meeting other dogs with careful and conscientious introductions. We have noticed Surrey does best with male dogs.Due to her very large size and protective nature, she should not go to a home with small children. She does not like being left alone and will sometimes bark when lonely, so she’s best suited for someone who is home often or can make arrangements to minimize long stretches by herself.Like many guardian breeds, she needs plenty of mental stimulation to keep her happy and balanced. And yes—she sheds! Regular brushing at least once a week (which she loves) is a must.On the plus side, Surrey is potty-trained, knows how to sit on command, and is eager to please her people. With the right home—one that appreciates her breed traits, gives her structure, and lets her be herself—Surrey will be an incredibly loyal, affectionate companion. If you’re experienced with large guardian breeds and ready to open your home and heart to a devoted dog who’s finally ready for her next chapter, Surrey is waiting to meet you. We currently have Surrey at our offsite facility in Ravenel where she has much more space- please email TransitionCenter@charlestonanimalsociety.org to set up an appointment to meet Surrey.

Story
**It is very important to reserach the breed if you are not familiar with them, as livestock guardians have their own set of idiosyncracies that need to be considered. Reminder: Anatolians are NOT German Shepherds, but instead are a very different breed. She's a big hit with everyone and she, in return, adores all. She can sometimes get too excited and hug with enthusiasm, but we're working on that because she's a big girl who is still growing. Hattie loves dogs and would be very lonely and more anxious without them. She has a heart of gold and really cares about her people and friends, sticking by your side as you go through your daily adventures. Hattie enjoys hugs, gives very gentle kisses and takes her treats/meds gently, as well..to boot, she's an excellent alarm clock, so you'll never oversleep! She loves to play and run around the yard with her best buds, tongue hanging out and incredibly happy; a playful buddy would make her very happy, for she would be very sad as an only dog.  **It is very important to research the Anatolian Shepherd breed if you are not very familiar with them, as they are not a breed for everyone. While Hattie is a lovely, gentle, happy girl, the breed does have it's own idiosyncracies that need to be understood and considered, such as running, roaming, barking, and other animals.***Hattie will need to be surpervised while outdoors during the transition to her new home. She will also need to continue house training and her anti-anxiety meds, to which she has responded very well. She is a strong girl, so her new family must be comfortable with this. A 6ft fence is required, and she can never be trusted off leash, even for short distances. ##2355048##

Story
Gracie is a sweet little Mini Aussie. She is quite timid and will need a family that will let her be who she is. She stays to herself and will come to you when she wants a kiss or interaction. Every small step for you is a tremendous win for her overcoming her fears. Noah's Arks Rescue is all about giving an Abused Animal a second chance at life and to experience what true love is. We take animals that have been tortured, abused, and neglected and supply the emergency medical care required to get them well. We then provide rehab physically and mentally to prepare them for their new home and new life. We are located in Ridgeland, SC., and are by appointment only. All of our dogs are at our Rehabilitation Center either in hospice care or being loved on by staff until we find them forever homes. Please call 843.540.6755 or email NoahsArksRescues@mac.com with any questions. If you are interested, please fill out our Adoption Application at https://www.noahs-arks.net/nar-application.
