Story
Cuddles is an extremely smart farm dog. She loves to guard hooved animals and children. She's 5 years old. I will miss her very much. I moved from my farm and she no longer respects the shock collar in my new place and I'm not putting up a fence. It is very important that she has acres of space and a job to do. She loves to go for hikes. She won't kill chickens.

Story
Stella was acquired from a local farm where her mother and father work as farm dogs. She playful, energetic, happy, and protective. Anatolian Shepherds of course make great guard dogs for livestock, and the Labrador in her makes her very friendly with the children. She want to assert her dominance over her smaller sister, so we are unable to keep them together anymore. She’d make a lovely farm dog for some family.

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact the owner at shaestorm16@hotmail or 828-280-6844 for more information or to adopt the pet.Kylo is a male Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix… a best educated guess, according to his vet. He will be 3 years old in November. We adopted him one month before the start of the Pandemic, so Kylo spent his first two years in our yard, with very little social interaction. He was very happy at our home which was surrounded by several fenced acres. This year we lost our home. Kylo is extremely intelligent, affectionate, gentle, playful and sweet. He loves to play keep away with socks and tissues… and he loves to sleep next to me. He is an exceptionally gorgeous creature. He gets lots of attention and compliments from other humans wherever we go because he is really very handsome. He gets along with most humans, my two cats and the very small dog he lives with. Otherwise, he probably would best be an "only dog."He is an amazing protector! He is often on high alert and is a barker, especially when he is outside and senses something unusual. His bark is deep and loud. He really loves to bark. Because we do not have a home with a fenced-in yard anymore, Kylo has to be walked on leash. He is controlled until distracted by other dogs, animals or even cars driving by. Then he barks and growls and lunges…. Kylo weighs nearly 100 lbs and is hard to control when he gets worked up, which inevitably happens when we walk on the street on leash. Kylo needs a person he can give his heart and unfaltering loyalty to. He also needs a fenced-in yard so he can run & play… with no neighbors close by because the barking could be an issue.Kylo is neutered, current on all vaccines, takes medicine to prevent fleas, ticks and heartworm, and has been under veterinary care at North Asheville Animal Hospital since we adopted him at 12 weeks old. He has had 8 weeks of formal puppy training in a group session, as well as a second series of general “manners” training. He is very motivated by treats and will sit, lie down, come and sometimes stay. He will gently take treats from my mouth & loves to be brushed if treats are involved. He loves to ride in the car, but will bark at other dogs he sees on the street.  He does not like the dog park; he greets the humans and hides from all the other dogs. Given the appropriate environment for us to live, I would NEVER be seeking to re-home my beautiful boy. He is a very special, very loved dog, and he deserves a really happy life.Contact me today at shaestorm16@hotmail or 828-280-6844 to learn more about sweet Kylo! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. April 27, 2024, 6:24 am
