Hello. My name is MEERKAT (Mochi) and below is some info about me:Breed: Anatolian Shepard mixAge: 2-1/2 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 24 kgHeight: ~ 52 cmCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: playful, affectionate, loyal, friendly, toy lover Why meerkat you wonder? Well, not only do I kind of look like one, but I am really playful like one. In fact you could say I am toy obsessed.Sadly I was abandoned on the streets when I was just about two months old. Tragically, at some point early in my life, I was abused and one of my front legs was broken by a cruel individual. My rescuers helped arrange treatment for me, and I recovered well.I continued to live on the streets in their neighborhood for some time and they kept an eye on me whenever they could. Unfortunately, I was later hit by a car, resulting in a serious fracture in my left front leg at the joint. My rescuers once again stepped in and provided surgery and full treatment for me. Now that I am healing well, they are fully committed to ensuring that I never hav to return to the streets. Their goal is to find me a loving family in a safe country, where I can live the peaceful and joyful life every dog deserves.I am quite the friendly girl and absolutely a looker. Aren't I a beauty? I am also very affectionate. Eeeexcept with kitties. I find them a bit too exciting to cuddle. Other dogs are A-ok.Unfortunately, both front elbow joints are likely prone to future arthritis. A pin was inserted into my left elbow during surgery after the accident. At this time, there is no need for any further surgery, and it’s very likely that I will never need another procedure for this issue in the future. It might be good to put me on a supplement now though to avoid any premature arthritic conditions. If you are wanting a loyal pupper who is ready to take on the fun world of Canada, pick me. Health Notes:I had a surgical pin inserted in my left elbow.I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and will be microchipped before arrival. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2482262##

Hi there… I’m Tara. Here is some important info you need to know about me: Breed: Anatolian Shepherd mix Age: 2 years 7 months ( d.o.b : 5/23/2023) Gender: female Height: 48 cm Weight: 46 pounds Highlights: loving, independent, loyal, playful I didn’t have the easiest start. When I was just 8 weeks old, I was trying to survive all by myself in a place full of trash and heat. I was so hungry, I tried to eat rocks. I know that sounds awful — it was. You could see all the bones in my little body. Surprisingly, I’m not food, aggressive! Someone kind found me just in time and saved my life. I’ve been living in a kennel ever since — first in one of the hottest cities in the Middle East (it got up to 120°F!), and now in the capital. I’m safe, and I’m so grateful… but I’m also so ready to finally have a home of my own. Now… I am a bit of an escape artist . I’ve got energy and curiosity and sometimes I think the grass might really be greener on the other side of the fence. So, I’ll need a secure yard and someone who can keep an eye on me. A huge bonus though, is that you can leave me at home alone. I don’t mind at all! People have tried to get me to the U.S., but the airlines and CDC rules have made it hard. So now, I’m hoping Vancouver will be my fresh start — my chance to finally be someone’s dog, to feel grass under my paws, and love in my life. I’ve waited a long time. But I’ll keep waiting — if you’ll be the one to come for me. Story
My name is Ms. Marley and I am an affectionate, sweet, playful, smart, and quiet 3 year old gal. I am part Belgian Malinois and part Labrador retriever. I weigh about 62 lbs and I measure about 20 inches at my shoulder. There is a good chance that I will greatly benefit from a 'job' within my family home. After all, my breed background is to be a working dog. I am not likely to be a dog who sits in front of the fire and just relaxes most of the day.  When I was about four or five months old, I got a viral enteritis causing diarrhea. My then “owner” didn’t want to spend the money to get me treated so I was dropped off at the terrible shelter in Wuhan, China. The terrible shelter wouldn’t take me because they didn’t want to spend the money treating me either. A really nice lady volunteer took me to her vet to get me treated and brought me to her shelter. I have been at her shelter for about a year. I am a good girl who loves to play, being still a young pup. I get along very well with the other dogs and I also love my rescuer and her family. I so long to have a family I can call my own and to flourish with them. I'm told that I am very trainable. So far, I have some leash-walking skills and I have a nice relationship with my rescuer's young daughter. I don't know any cats so I'm not sure how I would be around them. I have been spayed, microchipped, and immunized. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2053001##

Story
Let me introduce myself...I am Duke and I was found in Mission by my previous loving rescuer about 9 months ago. I was severely under weight but I have since gained back that weight and a sense of joy in living. My previous rescuer couldn't keep me because I and the other dog in the household have recently not been getting along. I was then placed elsewhere about 3 hrs out of Vancouver.  I am praised for being wonderful with all people, including young children. I love cuddles, forest adventures, and often acting goofy to the point where I will make my humans laugh. I am still learning recall but I do know sit, stay, lie down, and shake a paw. Here are a few specifics about me: Weight: 120 lbs      Age: 6 yrs old      Height:  TBC       Breed:  Great Pyrenees/mastiff       Energy level:  moderate Leash-walking: Yes but please be ready to help me learn even more     House-trained: Yes, but please help me to learn in my new home. Fears: sometimes I will cower if there is a sudden movement made by someone around me. Even though my history is largely unknown, it is apparent that I was likely hit. As a result, I have some lingering separation anxiety but I would love my new adopter to help me to recover from that. Until I get some help, I'm hoping I can come with my humans when they go out as I just love car rides. I am needing to be the only dog in the household as I can have a moment of food aggression with other dogs being fed near me. In contrast, I have neighbours who are chickens and I have never shown any interest in these feathered folks.  I know that I'm not a perfect dog but I would love to meet you to show you what I do best, be it hugs, playfulness, or adoration! I am immunized, neutered, and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $750 plus taxes. I have been neuetered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
