Story
Meet Azul!
1–2 years old | 32 lbs | Spayed | Aussie mix? Aussiedoodle? Is there some schnauzer in there? Just cute?
Fostered in the Covina area of LA County. Applications welcome from neighboring counties.
Azul is the kind of dog who wakes up excited about life. Sweet, gentle, intelligent, and always ready for the next adventure, she would love nothing more than to spend the day playing fetch with one of her many toys from her toy chest, going for a walk, and then curling up for a nap with her people.
Her foster says one of her favorite games is bringing toys from her toy box and asking you to play. She also has a silly side—Azul is a certified toe enthusiast and would happily spend all day giving toe kisses if you let her! She eagerly accepts face kisses.
Azul is house trained and lets you know when she needs to go outside by pacing near the door if she does not have free access. She sleeps quietly on her own bed and, when left alone with a good chew and a few favorite toys, is happy to entertain herself or nap.
She loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a playful canine companion who can match her high teenager energy. On walks, she gets excited when she sees new dog friends and may try to pull towards their new friend. She enjoys meeting people while on walks, too. She may announce visitors and strangers at the front door before quickly warming up. Her bark level is appropriate.
Like many young dogs, Azul is still learning. Loud noises, such as a banging trash truck, can startle her, so a secure martingale collar and a little reassurance help her feel safe. She listens well to corrections and already understands "no."
Azul would thrive with an active family that enjoys walks, hikes, playtime, and including their dog in everyday life. She can be mouthy, so older children would be a better fit than toddlers. A secure fenced yard is important because she still has a few puppy-ish habits, including curiosity possibly digging at the fence, and occasionally investigating things she shouldn't—so socks and small objects should stay definitely stay picked up!
Azul rides calmly in the back seat of the car and she is a good girl at the groomer. Speaking of the groomer, while she is a light shedder (not hypo-allergenic) she requires regular grooming. The longer her hair gets, the more she will shed. We are not sure what her mix is but possibly she is an Aussiedoodle? Only a Embark test will tell for sure!
Azul has not met a cat yet, however most cats don’t appreciate high energy dogs, so it’s really up to the cat.
Azul's dream home includes:
🐾 An active family
