For an application go to Rpacirescue.org. RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Please visit us on Facebook: Rebecca's Paws and Claws in Remlap and our website: www.rpacirescue.org. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the Pennsylvania/ New England area and delivered in Pennsylvania and RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. Darla is actually Merle, but due to her new haircut it is hard to see that. She is fun loving easygoing and a delightful young lady. She will make anyone a great pet, we were told at the surrender that she was great with children, but we have not had time to verify. Before her adoption we will verify if she is for sure kid and cat friendly. We know she is great with other dogs. She was saved from a backyard breeder and she is just a wonderful sweet girl who is very appreciative for her new life!!! For more info please do not hesitate to contact us.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi my name is Mimi! Before you get all excited because I am a poodle, please read all about me. I am a sweet girl, but I must have been used mostly for breeding because I am cautious of new people. I will literally run away from you if you move too quickly and when you do pick me up, I will shake even though I eventually will lean into your touch. It was said that I was about 5 years old when I came into rescue. My teeth were so bad that it was rrally hard to tell. Unfortunately my foster recently noticed that I was coughing and took me back in for a other exam. The vet found a slight heart murmur this time and I am currently on medication for this. I am doing great and my cough has disappeared. I will be on this for the rest of my life. Otherwise I am a very happy and energetic girl. I get along well with all dogs and cats. I would do best with no children as it take me a while just to warm up to adults. I would like an older quieter family with a fenced in yard so I cam go outside to potty and run and play. I need someone who is going to be patient and allow me to trust them so they can spoil me like I deserve to be. Because all of our dogs live in foster homes, meet-and-greets are scheduled only after a completed application is received. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance of Wilmington, DE so our volunteers can conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Doug (aka Duke)! Doug is a 7-year-old, 13.5 lb Shih Tzu/Poodle mix who is ready to be your new best friend. He came to us as a stray, and he's been a total sweetheart ever since. Doug is blind, but you'd hardly know it. He mapped his foster home within days and is already picking up his "blind dog" leash commands like a pro. He's medium energy, walks nicely on a leash, barks minimally, and is great with people and other dogs. Doug is a cuddle bug. Since he can't see, he likes to know exactly where his human is, so expect a loyal shadow who follows you from room to room. His favorite things are snuggling, belly rubs, food, and the squeakiest toy in the house, which he loves to roll around with after meals. • Housetraining: Almost there! He tells his foster when he needs to go out during the day and wears a belly band at night. • Health: Neutered, dental done, inguinal hernia repaired, and eye removal (enucleation). He has a Grade II/VI heart murmur, but no meds or special diet are needed. • Home needs: A fenced yard would be great but isn't required. He can handle 1 step or a few stairs, but please carry him on larger flights. • Ideal home: Semi-active, with a human who's around a lot and maybe a doggy friend.

Meet Baxter! 🐾 Baxter is a 13-14 year old Schnauzer-poodle mix, about 15lbs of pure sweetness once you earn his trust. When he first arrived, he was anxious and unsure — but with a little patience, he blossomed into the biggest lap dog you'll ever meet. Give him time to warm up, and he'll want to be on your lap 24/7, following you around like your own personal shadow. Baxter's happy dance is unforgettable: his lip scrunches up into the goofiest, gummiest smile, especially when he's doing his post-alone-time zoomies. He's loyal, loving, and endlessly grateful once he knows he's safe. The fine print: Baxter must be adopted alongside his brother Sammy — the two are bonded, and while Baxter can get a little protective (and stressed) over him, they're a package deal. He does best with someone home who can give him the time and patience to adjust; the vet says it's worth every minute. The basics: • Fully housebroken, great on a leash, handles stairs with no problem • Minimal barking, medium energy, doesn't mind being picked up or handled • Great with dogs and kids of all ages (he was especially smitten with a baby!) • Occasionally takes gabapentin and trazodone as needed for anxiety and better sleep • Recently had a dental cleaning and echocardiogram — health is in good shape for his age • Loves: Sammy, lap time, chicken, and pup cups with extra whip cream • Dislikes: being alone and vet visits Baxter came to us as an owner surrender through a shelter, carrying some dental issues and a lot of worry with him. Now he just wants a soft lap, a patient hand, and his brother by his side. Could that be you?
