Story
Stella is a 3.5-year-old, 45-pound dog whose life has been shaped by both deep love and repeated loss. None of it her fault. She was first surrendered to ACCT Philly due to seizures, placing her at risk with a time-stamped outcome. From there, she was rescued by Familiar Hearts Animal Society, given the care she needed, and finally adopted into a home of her own. For a while, Stella had what every dog deserves. But after nine months, she was returned. Again because of her seizures. And still, Stella remains exactly who she has always been :: a happy, gentle, deeply loving soul. She has a beautiful balance of energy, content to lounge by your side, yet quick to invite another dog into a playful game. She’s easy on leash, a wonderful walking companion, and adaptable to a variety of homes. Stella is especially tender with other animals, doing well with dogs and even cats, and she lights up around people, particularly children. Stella does have epilepsy, which means she will always experience seizures. Most are brief focal episodes lasting just seconds and don’t seem to interrupt her joy or engagement with life. Less frequently, she may have more significant seizures. She is on medication to help manage them, and her care team continues to learn what her “normal” looks like as her patterns evolve. What’s important to understand is this :: Stella is not a dog waiting to be fixed. She is a dog already living a full, connected, and joyful life. She is looking for a home that can meet her with steadiness and compassion. Someone who isn’t afraid of her diagnosis, but instead sees the extraordinary dog in front of them :: the one who keeps choosing joy, connection, and play, no matter how many times her world has changed. Stella has been let go more than once. She deserves this next home to be the one that holds. Apply to adopt her at https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoption-application. When approved, you can coordinate your meeting with her foster. Kennel License 18972

Story
Meet Sander! At 16 years old, Sander is proof that it`s never too late for a fresh start. When Sander arrived, he was in heartbreaking condition. Years of neglect had left him severely matted and uncomfortable, and it was clear he hadn`t received the love and care every dog deserves. Thanks to some much-needed grooming and lots of TLC, Sander is finally feeling like himself again—and he`s ready to find the forever home he`s always deserved.Don`t let his age fool you—Sander still enjoys getting out for walks and happily trots along, taking in all the sights and smells. He`s also a certified foodie who never misses a meal or a tasty treat, and after a little adventure, he`s more than happy to curl up on the couch for a well-earned nap. Best of all, Sander appears to be housebroken, making him an easy companion to welcome into your home. We think he would do fine with another low-key dog and has met cats with no issues!Senior dogs have a special way of appreciating the simple things in life, and Sander is no exception. A soft bed, a leisurely walk, good food, and someone to love are all he could ever ask for. After everything he`s been through, we`d love nothing more than to see Sander spend his golden years surrounded by comfort, kindness, and the family he`s waited so long to find. If you have room in your heart for a sweet senior, Sander is ready to show you just how much love a 16-year-old dog still has to give.

Story
Viking is a 6 year old neutered male moyen poodle who weighs 33 pounds. These dogs were rescued from horrible conditions and needed to be shaved down to the skin. Viking is very shy, but thrives with another dog to follow around and will need a patient family. He would do best with a fenced in yard and is working on learning how to walk on a leash. Story
Winston is a big fluffy happy high energy boy! He is very sweet, loves hard and plays hard. Winston cannot go to a home with kids due to his mouthy form of play. There is no aggression just overly excited. He does know a few basic commands and takes treats very nicely. He does need some basic training especially on leash, he pulls and crisscross in front of you while walking. He can be very reactive to strangers when out walking as well. All that aside his personality is fantastic. He is an oversized puppy at heart and loves every person he meets.

He lost his home due to a move into a small apt where there is little grass. They felt they could not keep him and do right by Teddy. The pics make him look big but Teddy is only 25 pounds He may grow a little but we don’t think he will top 30 to 40 pounds. Teddy needs a home where he can run and enjoy being a puppy. He is soooo sweet! We were told Teddy is a standard Poodle and he certainly looks to be just that. However we do not provide DNA and therefore cannot guarantee that this is true. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi my name is Mimi! Before you get all excited because I am a poodle, please read all about me. I am a sweet girl, but I must have been used mostly for breeding because I am cautious of new people. I will literally run away from you if you move too quickly and when you do pick me up, I will shake even though I eventually will lean into your touch. It was said that I was about 5 years old when I came into rescue. My teeth were so bad that it was rrally hard to tell. Unfortunately my foster recently noticed that I was coughing and took me back in for a other exam. The vet found a slight heart murmur this time and I am currently on medication for this. I am doing great and my cough has disappeared. I will be on this for the rest of my life. Otherwise I am a very happy and energetic girl. I get along well with all dogs and cats. I would do best with no children as it take me a while just to warm up to adults. I would like an older quieter family with a fenced in yard so I cam go outside to potty and run and play. I need someone who is going to be patient and allow me to trust them so they can spoil me like I deserve to be. Please consider giving me a life like I have never had and apply for me at www.allmuttsmatter.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 22, 2026, 8:48 am
