Story
Hello , my name is LANDON and boy, do I have a story to tell you. I was picked up on the streets in South Florida by animal control as a stray with no microchip, and no one claimed me. I was a real mess. I would share a picture, but it would make you cry like my foster mom did. I would love, love to be the only dog in your life so I get all the attention. I am about 4 years old, neutered, up to date with all my vaccines, heartworm and fecal negative, had a dental and I am on heartworm prevention. I have settled into foster care very well and love being in a home where I am loved and cared for. I am completely house trained, I have never been crated, and I sleep where I want, with my foster mom, on the couch or next to the bed on a rug. I do have a couple of quirks but they are easy to work around. I eat my bowl of food in about 2 seconds flat so please let me finish before you take my bowl away because I may growl if you try. I do not bite. Just tell me to stop and I will. Going to the vet is my least favorite thing to do. I am kind of sassy with the vet techs but if you leave me on the leash and walk me to where you want, I will be a good boy. I did go to a great trainer who said that no one has ever taught me manners. Just a subtle correction with the leash helps me understand what I am supposed to do. I need to be adopted by an experienced dog owner who will understand me and help me continue learning good manners. No first time dog owners please. My good traits include sitting on your lap, snuggling, and getting belly rubs. I will sit like a good boy to get a treat from you. I love car rides even though I bark at everyone who walks by. Tug of war is my favorite game. I like to go outside and patrol the yard to make sure there are no critters out there. My home needs to have a totally above ground fenced yard. I really want to be the only pet because I like all the attention. I have never been around children so no kids please. I started out in rough shape but the good folks at Coastal Poodle Rescue have made sure that I have had excellent vet care, great grooming and a loving foster home. Please give me a chance. If you meet me, you would see that I would be a perfect guy for you. Story
Hello, my name is JILL. I am a beautiful, spayed 9 year old standard poodle. Im looking for a forever home where I will get a lot of hugs and attention. You see, my mommy was ill and could no longer care for me so the family called Coastal Poodle Rescue and they welcomed me with open arms. I am up to date with all my vaccines and tests and on heartworm prevention. I get along with other dogs and even cats. My foster mom thinks that I am the sweetest poodle she has ever fostered and she has fostered a lot! As long as I get a lot of attention, I am happy. I really believe that I could never be loved enough and I thrive on someone giving me hugs. You are already my friend when we meet; you just might not know it yet! I don't gobble my food; thats not lady like. I eat Purina Pro Plan and would rather dine alone. I really love to play with anybody or anything. My former Mommy was too sick to play with me so now I really like to stretch my legs and run. I am very healthy but I did have eye surgery to correct an abnormality called entropion where both my top and bottom eyelids rolled inward. That means that the little hairs on my eyelids were constantly touching the surface of my eyes and causing irritation. My good friends at Coastal Poodle Rescue took me to a wonderful animal eye surgeon who successfully repaired my eyelids, and I can see perfectly. I also have dry eyes so Im on eye drops called Tacrolimus to help me produce tears and keep my eyes moist. I will probably have to use these drops for the rest of my life but Im such a good girl, I don't mind. I am not a runner so I really could be adopted without a fenced yard. My recall is great. I come when Im called. I am house trained, crate trained and leash trained. I like to sleep near my person. If you are looking for a perfect companion, then you need to meet me. My foster mom says that she cant say anything negative about me. She says that I am a good, good girl. Why dont you see for yourself and I am sure you will fall in love with me.
