Story
Meet Flounder!
Flounder is a playful, goofy one-year-old with plenty of energy. This lovable boy is incredibly smart, learns commands quickly, and is always ready for his next walk, game of fetch, or outdoor adventure.
Flounder has done well playing with large, medium-energy dogs. He currently enjoys two long walks each day, along with plenty of indoor and outdoor playtime. Fetch is his favorite activity, and he would happily chase and return his toy for hours! He also enjoys chew toys, bully sticks, car rides, and feeling the wind on his face.
Flounder sleeps quietly in his crate throughout the night after initially settling and should be crated when left alone. He is also improving his leash manners and already knows “sit” and “off.”
Like many young, energetic dogs, Flounder can become overexcited during play. He thrives with structure, clear boundaries, consistency, and positive training.
Flounder is extremely affectionate and loves cuddling, licking, and rubbing against his people. He even “purrs” like a cat! His expressive, sometimes crossed ears make his curious personality even more endearing.
His ideal adopter will be active, experienced, and committed to continuing his training while providing plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and companionship. A house with a securely fenced yard would be ideal.
Flounder has so much potential and is looking for someone who will channel his intelligence and energy in all the right ways. With structure, patience, and love, he will be a fun and devoted adventure companion.
This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)

Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.
Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.
