Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Patrick! Some dogs let life define them. Patrick never got the memo. Born with a deformity in his front left leg, Patrick has spent his entire life proving that different doesn't mean limited. He runs, plays, explores, and keeps up with his canine friends without letting his disability slow him down. It's simply the way he was born—and to Patrick, it's no big deal. Patrick is a handsome 3-year-old Poodle with a gentle heart and a quiet spirit. He absolutely loves other dogs and lights up when he has a canine friend to play with or nap beside. Whether he's exploring the yard, enjoying the fresh air, or relaxing after a fun play session, Patrick finds joy in the simple things. Like many puppy mill survivors, Patrick is still learning that people can be trusted. While he may be shy at first, beneath that timid exterior is a sweet boy just waiting for someone to show him that the world can be a safe and loving place. With patience, kindness, and a little time, Patrick's personality continues to shine a little brighter every day. His front leg has never caused him pain, and while he occasionally uses it for balance when standing, he has adapted beautifully. Patrick doesn't see himself as different—and neither should you. His disability has never kept him from enjoying life, playing with his dog friends, or doing all the things dogs love to do. Patrick approaches house training the same way he approaches everything else—with determination. He continues to make great progress when kept on a consistent schedule and will thrive with a patient, understanding family committed to helping him continue his journey. Patrick's ideal home will have a securely fenced yard, another friendly dog (that loves to play) to help build his confidence, and a family that understands that trust is earned, not rushed. In return, you'll gain an incredibly resilient companion who reminds you every day that life's challenges don't define who we are. Patrick's adoption donation is $625. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on monthly heartworm prevention, as well as flea prevention. He has also had a dental cleaning. If you're looking for a dog who embodies resilience, quiet courage, and unconditional love, Patrick is ready to show you that sometimes the strongest hearts come in the smallest packages. ❤️ Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  August 20, 2026, 2:36 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Harlee — a tiny diva with a huge personality and enough charm to keep everyone wrapped around her little paw. If you’ve ever wished for a best friend who wants to be involved in absolutely everything you do, Harlee is your girl. Harlee truly believes she is one of the people. Whether she’s curled up beside you on the couch, supervising snack time in hopes of earning a tiny taste, or tagging along on an adventure with her favorite humans, she is happiest simply being included. She rides beautifully in the car and lights up anytime she realizes she gets to go somewhere with you. This happy girl also enjoys spending time with her canine friends and loves joining the pack for backyard fun and playful adventures. She would do wonderfully in a home with another friendly dog who can match her enthusiasm and help her continue building confidence. Harlee is bright, expressive, and wonderfully entertaining. She loves toys, treats, and being the center of attention. After grooming, she gets especially playful and silly, often chasing her tail and showing off her adorable personality. She also takes her “neighborhood watch” duties very seriously and is always ready to let you know when she hears something interesting happening around the house. While Harlee enjoys exploring safely in a fenced yard, she is also learning that walks can be fun too — especially when treats are involved. She is very food motivated and happily cooperates when rewarded with one of her favorite snacks. Harlee does best on a consistent routine and understands the word “outside,” quickly heading out when it’s potty time. Like many sensitive little dogs, she can become anxious during storms or stressful situations, so having a calm environment and predictable schedule helps her feel secure. She has already discovered the comfort of having a cozy safe space to retreat to when she needs a little downtime. While Harlee does have luxating patellas, which are fairly common in small breed dogs, she handles things very well with daily supplements that help keep her comfortable and active. She appreciates gentle handling and a family committed to maintaining her routine and overall wellness so she can continue enjoying all the attention, adventures, and cuddles she loves so much. Her ideal home will adore her for the hilarious, loving, opinionated little companion she is. Harlee wants to be part of the family, included in daily life, and loved exactly as she is. In return, she will provide endless entertainment, loyal companionship, and plenty of laughs along the way.   Harlee’s adoption donation is $400. She is fostered in Central Ohio and has been spayed, microchipped, and has received a dental cleaning. She is current on rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella, and bivalent canine influenza vaccines, heartworm negative, and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Due to her ongoing orthopedic needs, Harlee requires an adopter with a strong veterinary care history committed to maintaining her medical care and comfort for years to come.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello, my name is Mia! If you're looking for a sweet little companion who is blossoming more every day, I just might be your girl! Since coming into rescue, I've made wonderful progress and continue to gain confidence with each new experience. I enjoy riding in the car, get along well with other dogs, and do great for grooming appointments. I'm still learning that leashes aren't so scary, but I'm making steady progress! I'm a gentle, sensitive girl who takes a little time to warm up to new people. Once I know I'm safe, though, I'll happily become your loyal shadow and favorite cuddle buddy. I absolutely love quiet moments snuggled up with my person, but I also have a playful side and enjoy romping around with my canine friends. Because I'm still building my confidence, I'll do best in a patient home that will let me settle in at my own pace. I'm continuing to work on my house training and do very well when kept on a consistent schedule with plenty of opportunities to go outside. A securely fenced yard is required so I can safely explore, play, and continue building my confidence. If you're willing to give me a little time, I promise I'll reward you with a lifetime of love, devotion, and companionship. Mia's adoption donation is $675, and she is being fostered in Columbus, Ohio. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on monthly heartworm prevention, is current on flea prevention, and has also had a dental cleaning.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog.
