Story
Meet Chewbacca ("Chewy")! With his shaggy coat, soulful eyes, and unmistakable teddy bear appearance, it's easy to see how this handsome doodle earned the name Chewbacca—Chewy for short!Chewy is believed to be around 7 years old and appears to be a standard-sized Goldendoodle-type mix weighing about 55 pounds. While his past is a bit of a mystery, one thing is clear: this sweet boy is ready to leave his wandering days behind him and find a place to call home.  When Chewy first arrived in rescue, he was understandably overwhelmed. After spending time fending for himself, he seemed almost amazed to discover soft dog beds, regular meals, and people looking out for him. Before long, he settled in and began showing everyone what a special dog he is.Chewy enjoys spending time with people and has done well settling into the routine of rescue life. He has been clean in his kennel, enjoys attention from his favorite humans, and seems to appreciate the comfort and security that come with having his needs met.Like many dogs who have experienced uncertainty, Chewy may benefit from a patient family willing to give him time to settle into new surroundings and build trust at his own pace. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion who is ready to enjoy the next chapter of his life. And let's be honest—once he gets a good grooming, this fluffy guy is going to turn plenty of heads! Chewy is looking for a family that will provide the love, stability, and understanding he deserves. Could that family be yours? Apply to adopt Chewy at www.caninecollective.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Marnie — Tiny Body, Huge Personality Marnie is a sweet, loving little lady who came into rescue as a stray and has absolutely blossomed in foster care. She adores her people and thrives when she can be close to them, whether that’s relaxing on the couch, supervising the household, or joining in on daily routines. This adorable girl has plenty of personality packed into her tiny frame! Marnie enjoys short strolls, car rides, soft toys, and keeping an eye on the neighborhood happenings. She also takes her “security team” responsibilities seriously and will happily alert you when she hears something important. Marnie does best on a consistent routine and has done very well with potty pads and scheduled potty breaks in her foster home. Because she prefers having her people nearby, she would be happiest in a home where someone is home often and can give her the love and companionship she craves. She gets along with her foster sibling and may enjoy a calm companion dog with a similar size and energy level, but she would also be perfectly content as the center of attention in her forever home. Marnie does have a mild movement-related condition that is currently very well managed with supportive care, supplements, and holistic therapies. It does not slow her down or impact her happy quality of life, and she continues to thrive in foster care. Her ideal home will be calm, loving, and understanding of her desire to be close to her people. A fenced yard is preferred since she is most comfortable with backyard potty breaks rather than leash walking for potty time. If you’re looking for a loyal, entertaining, and incredibly devoted little companion, Marnie may be the perfect match for you. Marnie’s adoption donation is $400 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella, and bivalent canine influenza vaccines, tested negative for heartworms, started on heartworm and flea prevention, and has also had a dental cleaning. Marnie requires a forever home with a strong veterinary medical history committed to maintaining her ongoing wellness and preventative care.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  June 24, 2026, 11:13 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Dexter If you are looking for a dog with a huge personality, endless entertainment value, and a whole lot of love to give, Dexter may just be your perfect match! Dexter is a playful, energetic little guy who absolutely loves life. Whether he is racing around the backyard doing zoomies, playing with his dog friends, or proudly sneaking a sock out of the laundry basket, he keeps everyone around him laughing. He is smart, curious, and full of quirky charm — including the adorable head tilt he gives when you talk to him like he understands every word. While Dexter has plenty of energy and would thrive in an active home, he also has a sweet snuggly side. At the end of the day, he is happiest curled up with his people, especially if he can burrow under the covers for bedtime cuddles. Dexter would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard or an adopter committed to giving him plenty of exercise through walks, runs, and playtime. He absolutely loves other playful dogs and really enjoys having canine companions to romp around with. He also enjoys people of all ages and has done well with older children. Because he is still learning some manners and can get excited, a home with very young children may need a little extra supervision and continued training. He does well when kept on a schedule and is continuing to learn appropriate toys versus “treasures” he finds around the house. Dexter is eager to please, very smart, and does wonderfully for grooming. With continued structure and basic training, he is going to make an incredible companion. Dexter is looking for a family that will embrace his fun-loving spirit, keep him active, and include him as part of the family. In return, he promises plenty of laughs, endless affection, and a best friend who will keep life exciting. Dexter’s adoption donation is $575. He is fostered in Central Ohio and is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and current on heartworm and flea prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Harlee — a tiny diva with a huge personality and enough charm to keep everyone wrapped around her little paw. If you’ve ever wished for a best friend who wants to be involved in absolutely everything you do, Harlee is your girl. Harlee truly believes she is one of the people. Whether she’s curled up beside you on the couch, supervising snack time in hopes of earning a tiny taste, or tagging along on an adventure with her favorite humans, she is happiest simply being included. She rides beautifully in the car and lights up anytime she realizes she gets to go somewhere with you. This happy girl also enjoys spending time with her canine friends and loves joining the pack for backyard fun and playful adventures. She would do wonderfully in a home with another friendly dog who can match her enthusiasm and help her continue building confidence. Harlee is bright, expressive, and wonderfully entertaining. She loves toys, treats, and being the center of attention. After grooming, she gets especially playful and silly, often chasing her tail and showing off her adorable personality. She also takes her “neighborhood watch” duties very seriously and is always ready to let you know when she hears something interesting happening around the house. While Harlee enjoys exploring safely in a fenced yard, she is also learning that walks can be fun too — especially when treats are involved. She is very food motivated and happily cooperates when rewarded with one of her favorite snacks. Harlee does best on a consistent routine and understands the word “outside,” quickly heading out when it’s potty time. Like many sensitive little dogs, she can become anxious during storms or stressful situations, so having a calm environment and predictable schedule helps her feel secure. She has already discovered the comfort of having a cozy safe space to retreat to when she needs a little downtime. While Harlee does have luxating patellas, which are fairly common in small breed dogs, she handles things very well with daily supplements that help keep her comfortable and active. She appreciates gentle handling and a family committed to maintaining her routine and overall wellness so she can continue enjoying all the attention, adventures, and cuddles she loves so much. Her ideal home will adore her for the hilarious, loving, opinionated little companion she is. Harlee wants to be part of the family, included in daily life, and loved exactly as she is. In return, she will provide endless entertainment, loyal companionship, and plenty of laughs along the way.   Harlee’s adoption donation is $400. She is fostered in Central Ohio and has been spayed, microchipped, and has received a dental cleaning. She is current on rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella, and bivalent canine influenza vaccines, heartworm negative, and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Due to her ongoing orthopedic needs, Harlee requires an adopter with a strong veterinary care history committed to maintaining her medical care and comfort for years to come.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog.
