Story
Vinny is an adorable 1yr 7mo, 75lb german shepherd poodle. He is very smart, loves to cuddle, and play. All he wants is your attention and love. Vinny loves to play or chew and really enjoys training. He is so much fun and the cutest guy you will meet! Vinny is crate trained and good on a leash. He struggles to be friendly with other dogs, and introductions are especially difficult. He will warn (growling and stiffening) unfamiliar dogs, though in several cases has also warmed up. It is clear that he lacked appropriate early socialization and exhibits some fear and anxiety. He can be overstimulated/fearful outside the home and skittish to strangers approaching him. He should be the only dog in the home, and would benefit from some continued behavioral support. We adopted Vinny in Oct 2024 to be friends with our older dog, which hasn’t worked out. He became aggressive toward Vinny and we ended up separating them within our home and engaging behavioral specialists.

Story
Meet Peanut! 🥜If you're looking for a friendly, easygoing companion with a heart as big as his fluffy smile, Peanut may be your perfect match. This handsome 3-year-old Goldendoodle mix weighs about 60 pounds and has quickly charmed everyone he's met. Peanut is the kind of dog who seems to take life in stride. He walks nicely on leash, has wonderful manners, and carries himself with a calm, medium-energy personality that makes him easy to enjoy. He's affectionate without being pushy and friendly without being overly excitable. One of Peanut's sweetest habits is gently licking your hand while you pet him—a small gesture that perfectly captures his loving nature.Peanut recently made the trip from Kentucky to Canine Collective along with his sister. While they've enjoyed having each other as travel companions and playmates, they are not bonded and can be adopted separately. That said, Peanut appears to enjoy the company of other dogs and would likely be happy to have a canine sibling to romp around with. One thing that stands out about Peanut is just how comfortable and trusting he is with people. Whether he's being handled, examined, or simply showered with attention, he takes it all in stride with a gentle, good-natured attitude. He's the kind of dog who seems ready to fit right into family life. Peanut appears to be one of those easy dogs who simply enjoys being with his people. Whether he's joining you for a walk, relaxing at home, or soaking up attention, he's happiest when he's part of the familyIf you're looking for a well-mannered, lovable doodle who's equal parts companion, walking buddy, and couch-side friend, Peanut is ready to meet you.Apply to adopt Peanut at www.caninecollective.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Dexter If you are looking for a dog with a huge personality, endless entertainment value, and a whole lot of love to give, Dexter may just be your perfect match! Dexter is a playful, energetic little guy who absolutely loves life. Whether he is racing around the backyard doing zoomies, playing with his dog friends, or proudly sneaking a sock out of the laundry basket, he keeps everyone around him laughing. He is smart, curious, and full of quirky charm — including the adorable head tilt he gives when you talk to him like he understands every word. While Dexter has plenty of energy and would thrive in an active home, he also has a sweet snuggly side. At the end of the day, he is happiest curled up with his people, especially if he can burrow under the covers for bedtime cuddles. Dexter would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard or an adopter committed to giving him plenty of exercise through walks, runs, and playtime. He absolutely loves other playful dogs and really enjoys having canine companions to romp around with. He also enjoys people of all ages and has done well with older children. Because he is still learning some manners and can get excited, a home with very young children may need a little extra supervision and continued training. He does well when kept on a schedule and is continuing to learn appropriate toys versus “treasures” he finds around the house. Dexter is eager to please, very smart, and does wonderfully for grooming. With continued structure and basic training, he is going to make an incredible companion. Dexter is looking for a family that will embrace his fun-loving spirit, keep him active, and include him as part of the family. In return, he promises plenty of laughs, endless affection, and a best friend who will keep life exciting. Dexter’s adoption donation is $575. He is fostered in Central Ohio and is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and current on heartworm and flea prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  June 1, 2026, 10:44 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Marnie — Tiny Body, Huge Personality Marnie is a sweet, loving little lady who came into rescue as a stray and has absolutely blossomed in foster care. She adores her people and thrives when she can be close to them, whether that’s relaxing on the couch, supervising the household, or joining in on daily routines. This adorable girl has plenty of personality packed into her tiny frame! Marnie enjoys short strolls, car rides, soft toys, and keeping an eye on the neighborhood happenings. She also takes her “security team” responsibilities seriously and will happily alert you when she hears something important. Marnie does best on a consistent routine and has done very well with potty pads and scheduled potty breaks in her foster home. Because she prefers having her people nearby, she would be happiest in a home where someone is home often and can give her the love and companionship she craves. She gets along with her foster sibling and may enjoy a calm companion dog with a similar size and energy level, but she would also be perfectly content as the center of attention in her forever home. Marnie does have a mild movement-related condition that is currently very well managed with supportive care, supplements, and holistic therapies. It does not slow her down or impact her happy quality of life, and she continues to thrive in foster care. Her ideal home will be calm, loving, and understanding of her desire to be close to her people. A fenced yard is preferred since she is most comfortable with backyard potty breaks rather than leash walking for potty time. If you’re looking for a loyal, entertaining, and incredibly devoted little companion, Marnie may be the perfect match for you. Marnie’s adoption donation is $400 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella, and bivalent canine influenza vaccines, tested negative for heartworms, started on heartworm and flea prevention, and has also had a dental cleaning. Marnie requires a forever home with a strong veterinary medical history committed to maintaining her ongoing wellness and preventative care.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sloane – Tiny Girl, Big Personality! If you’re looking for a fun-loving little sidekick who brings smiles, laughter, and endless charm, Sloane may just be your perfect match! This adorable 5-year-old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix has blossomed beautifully in rescue and is now ready to find a forever family of her own. Sloane came to us from a hoarding situation alongside several other dogs, but despite her past, she has embraced the good life with enthusiasm. She has discovered how wonderful it is to simply be a dog — playing with toys, exploring the outdoors, soaking up attention, and showing off her goofy, adventurous personality. Watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding, and now she’s ready for the next chapter of her journey. This sweet girl is happiest when she has a toy nearby and a canine companion to share life with. Sloane absolutely needs another friendly, playful dog in her forever home to help continue building her confidence and to give her the companionship she thrives on. She also does well with cats and enjoys being part of the action around her. Sloane would love a home that appreciates her playful spirit and gives her opportunities to enjoy the outdoors safely. A securely fenced yard is required for this adventurous little lady, as she truly enjoys exploring, playing, and staying active outside. She would do best in a home that can match her moderate activity level and continue engaging both her playful and affectionate sides. She does well when kept on a consistent schedule and continues to thrive with routine and encouragement. Like many dogs adjusting to a new home, she will need patience and understanding as she transitions into her forever family. Sloane’s ideal home will enjoy an active, interactive lifestyle with their dogs and embrace her joyful personality, silly antics, and love of toys. She is looking for a family ready to include her in daily activities, playtime, companionship, and adventures with her canine buddy by her side. Sloane’s adoption donation is $500. She is being fostered in Central Ohio and is spayed, microchipped, current on rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella, and bivalent canine influenza vaccines, heartworm negative, and current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog.
