Story
***AVAILABLE for adoption!*** He's baaaaack... You all might remember Archie from back in March. He's been returned by the young family that adopted him. The kids quickly lost interest, mom and dad working opposite shifts found out they had no time to train a young dog, and before you knew it, Archie found himself locked outside in the backyard. He entertained himself by digging holes, chewing up kids toys/patio furniture and barking at squirrels. I got the call last week that he'd somehow gotten ahold of one of their separately penned hens and used her as a chew toy. She didn't make it. Unfortunately, (or fortunately 🤷) that was the last draw for him in this home. I will take the blame fully from making a bad match. I generally don't like to go with couples who work opposite shifts because when one is gone the other is sleeping and vice versa.. Nobody has time for a dog, with a schedule like that and add several young children to boot... My bad. I'll try harder this time buddy. To apply, fill out an application here https://forms.gle/dGz75whm2hFT2fej7 Archie is a 1 yr neutered male Doodle of some blend (my guess is Border Collie/Poodle). He has a wire hair, non-shedding coat which should be excellent for allergy sufferers. He weighs 55 lb. He's very athletic and energetic. He has lots of puppy energy. He absolutely loves to play with other dogs. He does like to give the cat a run for his money but I really think he's doing it in curiosity and fun. He does not seem prey driven or like he would hurt the cat. And if the cat stood his ground, I think Archie would lose interest. He will play fetch for hours. He loves to go hiking and he has excellent off leash recall. He is very good in the house and hasn't marked anywhere. He goes to the door and barks when he has to go potty. He walks very nicely on a leash and he loves to ride in the car. His only bad habits are jumping up on you, and counter surfing. Both easily corrected with consistency and we're working on that. Like I said he's full of puppy energy and just needs an outlet. He would be an excellent match for a young active outdoorsy couple who wants to have a hiking and camping partner for exploring our beautiful Pacific Northwest. I think he would do best in a home with another dog to romp wrestle and play with and expel energy.

Story
Meet Miss America! Hi, future family! I'm Miss America, and yes, I do live up to the title. I'm the total package: sweet, caring, and easy to love. Whether your home is full of kids, other dogs, or just a cozy couch and good snacks, I can fit right in. As for cats? I haven't officially had my interview with them yet, but with my calm and gentle nature, there's a pretty good chance we'd get along just fine.  I'm the kind of girl who knows how to bring the fun when it's time to play, but I'm just as happy to kick back and lounge like a professional.  I've got great house manners, too - I'm very well house-trained, which means I'm already nailing one of the most important parts of being a great roommate. It took me less than a week to learn the boundaries of my foster home! I know which furniture I am allowed on, and which is off limits, how to use the doggy door and even syncing up with their sleep schedule so I don’t disturb anyone. I'm still polishing up my leash skills, but hey, nobody's perfect, and I'm a smart girl who's working on it. So, if you're looking for a dog who's loving, adaptable, fun, and chill, I may just be your Miss American dream come true. Crown optional. Belly rubs preferred. Apply today! WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.  Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process. ##2729480##
