Story
Hi! My name is Sweeney, and I am just the goodest boy, can't you tell?!   I just turned a year old, but I've seen and been through a lot in my short life! My siblings and I found ourselves malnourished in a rural Texas animal control with Parvo and coccidia at about 6 weeks old. These diseases are known as puppy killers, but thank goodness Samson's Sanctuary scooped us all up and that we all had the will to survive and thrive! And that is exactly what we are all doing now, thriving!  My siblings and other friends all got adopted and are thriving in their furever homes and I'm still waiting. I got adopted when I was a tiny baby, and the family didnt take puppy responsibility seriously. They promised to do the training work a puppy requires no matter what, and that they would love me unconditionally but I guess they changed their mind. They returned me 3 weeks later. I don't understand what I did wrong! No one ever taught me how to be a good boy in a home, I just needed a fair chance and time to adjust. I have been in a few foster homes and even a board and training program since then, and everyone who cares for me loves me so much.  I have learned lots of good boy manners since I was returned and I'm ready to find my family!  I also healed from 2 emergency surgeries on my elbow when I was 6 month old, and even that couldn't bring me down! I'm already back to running and playing on the beach and everywhere else I'm allowed to! Now I wear elbow pads to keep me safe, and I think I look really cool!  I'm a 60 lb bundle of love. All I really want to do is shower you with kisses, snuggle, go on fun walks or hikes, and show you how incredibly smart I am. Puzzles, games, tricks...no problem! And I'm not trying to brag, but did I already mention I'm smart? Because I'm also potty trained and ask nicely to go outside too. AND I like to sing opera. Check me out on our IG & tiktok! @SamsonsSanctuary Even though I'm a playful boy, I also love to snuggle up with you on a comfy couch and watch a show or movie while I chew on my favorite toy. And I love to have playdates with my doggie friends! However before I made it to LA my brothers who were bigger than me used to beat me up for my food, and due to that trauma I don't like to share food and would prefer to be your only puppy love, unless you are experienced handling food guarding and feel confident you can keep me on the right track, I've worked so hard already!  I've really been waiting my WHOLE LIFE for you! If you want to be my forever family, I promise I'll be your very best pal. Pretty please apply to foster or adopt me, and you'll find out how awesome I really am!

Story
ADOPT DUTCH After spending 2 months behind bars at the Devore Shelter as a 7 month old pup, Dutch made his way to a foster home. This boy is the physical embodiment of “everything, everywhere all at once”! Are we going for a walk in the rain—yay! Are we playing chase with our canine foster sisters—yay! Are we going for a ride in the car-yay! Are we just gonna cuddle on the couch—well, you get the idea. There’s really not much that Dutch doesn’t enjoy, and his enthusiasm is contagious! He is now 12 months old, fully vetted and very healthy. He is crate trained and potty trained. Because of his working breed background and high intelligence, Dutch is a fast learner and very eager to please. We think he’d do best in an active home, where his zest for life will really shine. A canine companion would be great, he loves them all, but as long as he has doggy friends, it’s not a deal breaker.  So whaddya say, wanna go Dutch?"   ##1681505##

Story
Macks is a beautiful and kind cattle dog/shepherd mix who was surrendered to a high kill shelter as a result of her owner passing away. She can be shy when first meeting new people at first, but when she's warmed up, she is a very affectionate girl. She needs a loving and patient adopter who can give her the time and love that she needs to feel welcome in her new home.
