Story
Meet Ru, a charming 70-pound bundle of love with a unique mix of cattle dog, boxer, and pit! Born into the Redwood Pals family seven years ago, Ru's journey began when we rescued his pregnant mother from the shelter. Now, due to unforeseen circumstances, Ru is seeking a new home. This handsome fellow is not just a pretty face; he's a well-behaved and affectionate companion. Neutered and up to date on vaccinations, Ru is a seasoned pro at being housebroken and is perfectly content when left alone. Cuddling is one of his favorite pastimes, and he's eagerly awaiting the opportunity to have a special person to call his own once again. Ru is not just a pretty face; he's also a smart cookie! He has mastered basic commands such as sit, down, and come, showcasing his eagerness to please. Currently, he's enjoying the company of one of his brothers, but deep down, Ru yearns for the chance to form a strong bond with a loving individual. If you're ready for a delightful companion with a heart as big as his mix of breeds, Ru is the perfect match for you. Bring home this lovable canine and watch him fill your life with joy, cuddles, and unwavering loyalty!

Story
Redwood Pals also has a lovely female dog named Vera that we pulled out of the shelter and placed with another great foster. Vera is about 2 years old and is a nice medium size at 50 pounds. She is living with three other dogs and is quite happy to be part of the pack. Janna Campillo from Redwood Coast K9 Academy offered us a free training class and Vera was the lucky recipient. Her fosters say the K9 Fundamentals class gave her a wonderful opportunity for socialization and that she demonstrated an excellent understanding of verbal and hand cues for basic commands. At home, Vera is perfectly potty trained, sleeps well in her crate, and has proven to be a very polite houseguest. If she could sleep in a sunbeam or on the couch with her human all day, she would be a very happy girl. On a recent road trip, Vera learned that strangers will give her treats and that hotel rooms can be a lot of fun! This petite cattle dog/pittie mix has had a few weeks to decompress from the shelter and is ready to find her forever home. If you are looking for a great companion dog that is past the puppy stage, contact us.

Olive is one groovy girl-- she is friendly with other dogs she has met at the shelter and every person she meets is smitten with her. She will even crawl into your lap for belly rubs-- this girl loves affection! She already has `sit` under her belt and maybe more she has yet to show us. One thing is for sure though, she is a big fan of fetch! At 40 lb, this gal is the perfect size to get up and go on all sorts of adventures and snuggle the evening away after a day of fun.
