Story
Cattle Dog mix, maleMeet Rodney!  He came from King’s County along wi3th two other pups. Rodney is around 1 year old, a cattle dog mix.  He is a small/medium sized guy at 35 lbs.   Rodney is very submissive and nice.  He’s sweet and wants to give paw.  He is cautious but great with the entire pack.  He's a combination of respectful and no nonsense! Completely appropriate, he defers to the dogs already here, and gently tells other dogs to step off if they try to steal Rodney's cow hoof!   Check out this beautiful young guy. Dog social. Respectful of everyone! Rodney is a pleasure here. Easy keeper! Rodney is neutered, chipped, and up to date on vaccinations.  Rodney is in Templeton, CA. Story
Cattle Dog mix, femaleClaire is a 2 year old heeler mix with a cute little naturally bobbed tail.  Claire is great sport. Nice girl. Easy going. Totally nice with other dogs.  With so many dogs at the rescue right now, it's good to have a sensible adult dog join the pack! Claire was able to be off leash right away and took her cues from the resident dogs.  Claire is a bit of a heeler mix. Her head looks like border collie. Claire is spayed, chipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Claire is in Templeton, CA More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/www.cchdrescue.org/  search in posts and photo albums. Cattle Dog mix, female puppyMeet Mattie!  Mattie and her sister Lizzie are 9 month old heelers from Tulare County. The shelter knew they needed time. But there was none. And no help.  So now they’re with us.  They’re getting a quiet place to relax and learn how to be domestic dogs.  Mattie is great with other dogs and good with every human she has met.  Mattie will be spayed before being adopted.  She is chipped and up to date on vaccinations.  Mattie is in Atascadero, CA. Story
Cattle Dog mix, adult femaleLike a fine wine, Olivia isn’t meant to be rushed. At first pour, she may seem a little reserved, quietly taking in the room, unsure of unfamiliar hands and new surroundings. But give her time to breathe — space, patience, and gentle consistency — and something beautiful happens. Slowly, her true flavors emerge: a soft gaze that lingers a little longer, a tail that starts to wag just for you, a loyal presence that chooses your side once trust is earned. This is a dog for someone who understands that the best things in life aren’t instant — they’re cultivated. Olivia isn’t flashy or overwhelming. She’s nuanced. Thoughtful. Deeply devoted once opened up. The kind of companion who forms a bond that feels rare because you earned it together. We know Olivia will require a dog friend or two in her new home. She's fantastic in a pack and great in the house.  Loves, loves, loves her off leash time. Although she's wonderful on leash as well. Olivia is a 2 year old, border collie mix located in Templeton, CA. She is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines.   More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1589146862046962&type=3   Interested in Olivia?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_App  December 29, 2025, 3:08 pm
