Story
🐾🖤 Meet Oreo 🖤🐾 At 1 year old and about 45 lbs, this young Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) has a gentle heart, just a little unsure of the world right now. When meeting new people, Oreo is shy and cautious. She prefers a slow approach and time to observe before deciding you’re safe. The beautiful part? Once you sit quietly with her, you can see her curiosity take over. She’ll slowly inch closer, gently take treats from your hand, and begin to build trust. After spending some time together, she followed along in the yard, sat politely for treats, and stayed nearby. You just have to move calmly and avoid sudden motions, as quick hand movements can startle her. Oreo is the kind of dog who will bond deeply with someone patient and kind. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and a calm environment, she has so much potential to blossom into a loyal, devoted companion. ✨ About Oreo✨ 🐶 Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) 🎂 1 year old ⚖️ 45 lbs 🤍 Sweet but shy at first 🍪 Treat-motivated 🌱 Gains confidence with patience and gentle handling Oreo would do best in a home that understands herding breeds and is willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel secure. Story
Dear Friends of Aloha Ilio Rescue, We’d like to introduce you to a very special member of our rescue family, Musubi. Musubi is currently in the loving care of one of our hospice fosters, and while his time with us may be limited, every day is filled with love, comfort, and compassion. Meet Musubi: Musubi came to Aloha Ilio Rescue after enduring a difficult and uncertain life. He had faced many challenges, and for much of his time, he lived without the love and care that every dog deserves. When Musubi arrived, he needed more than just medical treatment — he needed a peaceful, safe place where he could rest and feel truly cared for. Though Musubi is facing health challenges, his sweet, gentle nature still shines through. He finds joy in simple things like the warmth of the sun, the feel of soft bedding, and the kindness of his foster family’s touch. While Musubi’s time with us may be short, we are doing everything we can to ensure each day is filled with comfort, love, and peace. What is Hospice Foster Care? Hospice foster care is all about providing a loving, stress-free environment for dogs who are nearing the end of their lives. It’s not about trying to cure or “fix” them, but about offering them a safe and calm place to spend their final days. Musubi is receiving this kind of care in a peaceful, loving home, where he can rest without the need for medical procedures, and simply enjoy his remaining time in comfort. Our hospice foster families are dedicated to making sure dogs like Musubi experience dignity and love in their final moments. How You Can Help: While Musubi is receiving the best care possible, there are still ways you can help make a difference: Donations: Your generous donations help us provide the special care that Musubi and other hospice dogs need. From medications and comfort items to creating a loving environment, every bit helps. Sending Love: While we don’t know how much time Musubi has left, we can make sure he knows he’s loved. You can send him a card or message to brighten his day and remind him how special he is. Sharing Musubi’s Story: Help raise awareness about hospice care by sharing Musubi’s journey. The more people know about the importance of offering comfort and peace to terminally ill dogs, the more support we can gather to continue our work. Thank You for Supporting Musubi and All Our Rescue Dogs: At Aloha Ilio Rescue, we believe that every dog deserves love and respect, no matter their age or health. Musubi’s journey may be quiet, but it is deeply meaningful. Thank you for being part of his story and for helping us continue to provide compassionate care for all the dogs who need us most.
