Like keeping intruders away or helping around the farm or yard. He's friendly, listens well and will learn to follow the commands of a confident adult. Gets along with other dogs once he knows them. An adult only household is preferred.

How are you doing on this fine afternoon? Oh me? I am doing great! I love running and playing. Sometimes I enjoy having a playmate but other times I do not. They say you have to be careful the kind of personalities you surround yourself with and I take that to heart! I came in with another dog, his name is Big Bear because he is a big big boy. I am not nearly as big as he is! We were just cruising around town when our Animal Control friend picked us up and brought us here. I am an adorable boy and would love to show you in person how adorable I am!

Meet the absolutely sweet Athena! She a 4-year old, 65 lb mixed breed. Athena is gorgeous inside and out! She is the sweetest girl who gives the best snuggles. Athena is very kind and gentle with the smaller dogs in her foster home, and has also done well with a dog her size. It is unknown how Athena would do with cats but does do well with kids. Athena is a very smart girl who already knows “sit” and “shake”. She is a people pleaser and is capable of learning so much more with some basic training. She came from a home who loved her and spoiled her so she is looking for the same type of new home. Athena is house broke, but does not appreciate being crated. She is up to spayed, current on all vacs, microchipped, heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. The first step to adopt is by filling out an online application at www.handofhoperescue.com!
