Story
Meet Atlas! Atlas is a 1-year-old Australian Kelpie. Atlas was an owner surrender due to his human having to relocate and could not take Atlas with him. He tried multiple resources in order to keep Atlas but was unsuccessful. So he responsibly surrendered Atlas to our rescue. Atlas is extremely well-behaved and docile. He has a great temperament but will be playful. Especially if you take his frisbee out. Australian Kelpie's need a lot of simulation because they are a herding breed. Whether that's physical exercise or mental stimulation. Both would be ideal. Atlas is well-mannered and very intelligent. He is crate trained, potty trained, up to date on vaccinations, and neutered. He is looking for his forever home!  ##2108244##

Story
Maxine is a sweet, petite little lady. She is estimated to be between 10 and 12 years old. She's 37 pounds and a complete sweetheart. Maxine was found as a stray and brought to our county shelter. No one came looking for her. Maxine has clearly had untreated skin issues on her back for quite some time, leaving her with rough skin and little hair. It's unknown if her hair will grow back, but it's possible with time and proper care and nutrition. Maxine is a very sweet and friendly girl. She's great with other dogs and all people. Cats are unknown. Maxine is such a happy go lucky girl. She loves to cuddle in bed or the couch, chew bones and she can be pretty frisky and cute. This girl deserves so much and she's a complete joy to have around. **EMAIL INQUIRIES ONLY **

Story
Molly is a black and tan cattle dog heeler mix. She is approximately 5 years old. She weighs about 42.4 lbs.. She has been spayed. Molly is a beautiful mixed breed dog who has had limited socialization due to her previous home with many other multiple dogs. Despite her challenging start in life, Molly possesses an incredible potential to be an amazing companion. With the right love, care and guidance, she is ready to transform into a shining gem and bring endless joy to her forever home. Molly's ideal home would be one with a calm and loving owner will be patient with her. Molly needs a home without children or other pets as she really thrives with one on one individual attention. She will need a structured routine, positive reinforcement training and plenty of socialization to help her reach her full potential. In the right home she will be a loyal, affectionate girl with an unbreakable bond with her new family. If you would like to give her the second chance she deserves, we would love to hear from you. Please come in to visit her any time we are open or call the shelter at 863-324-5227 for more information. We are open Tuesday - Friday from 10:30 to 6, Saturday from 10:30 to 4 (Closed 1-2 for lunch and the last Friday of the month).

Welcome Cooper to Sunshine Big Dog Rescue. Approximately 7 month old male, 33 pounds, possibly Australian Kelpie mix, neutered and up to date on shots. Found wandering the Town and Country Preserve behind Alonso High School. He served his time in county lock up and is now ready to find his real forever home! He is Super playful, loves to snuggle, ridiculously smart, knows how to sit and learning how to shake. He is crate trained, potty trained and food driven. He has a touch of separation anxiety, likely due to being dumped by previous owners. Gets along with other dogs, he’s been exposed to cats but he is unsure of them. Story
Gemini Zod is a charismatic Aussie mix with a unique blend of charm and energy. This adorable pup came to us initially shy and scared, but it took just a couple of days for him to reveal the true star within. Gemini Zod has transformed into an outgoing and charismatic companion. His big personality shines through, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Gemini Zod enjoys an extremely active lifestyle. His love for walking, chasing after a ball, and indulging in some bone-chewing sessions is truly delightful to witness. But the real show-stopper is when he decides it's time for zoomies – his playful sprints and twists are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Gemini Zod is seeking a home that appreciates his lively spirit and is ready to provide the love and engagement he craves.  HE IS EXTREMELY PEOPLE SELECTIVE AND MUST GO TO A VERY EXPERIENCED ADOPTER. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good.
