Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet girl ISO fresh start and love! MIRANA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Mirana       Best Guess for Breed:   Australian shepherd and Shepherd mix  Best Guess for Age:   7 months as of Nov. 2025        SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:   14.5 lbs as of 10/26/25 - she is still growing!   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Mirana is Looking For: Her forever home! Mirana is at the tail end of puppyhood and has all that awesome young-dog energy. She is eagerly looking forward to having her own humans for sniffy walks and romps with pup pals and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so she can show how super smart she is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. Most of all, though, she wants to know she is safe and loved. In exchange she promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags she has, and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Is Mirana the one you have been seeking?   What My Foster Says About Me: Mirana is the most affectionate dog we’ve had. She always wants to be with her people for pets and belly rubs. She has a charming puppy playfulness about her and is full of curiosity about her new life. She walks easily on a leash and is still learning crate training and being house broken. She loves to play with her squishy toys and is happiest going on a walk with you. She also enjoys running with other dogs in the dog park. With her big ears, she is a cute part dog, part elf! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Special adoption considerations: Gaby is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Gaby is Looking For:   Her forever home! Gaby landed in the shelter through no fault of her own and is eager to once again have her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are also on her wish list but you know what? She's out of the puppy yips and knows what's most important in life: Being safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and love and loyal companionship for all her days.  What do you say? Is Gaby the one for your home and your heart?  What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has spent time in foster care.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Male, 8.5 years old, 60 pounds Personality: good running partner, snuggler, playful, smart, adaptable, goofy/funny, outgoing, independent, energetic, and affectionate. Corey is an easygoing, goofy boy who’s the perfect mix of affectionate and independent. He loves cuddles and belly rubs but is also happy to relax on the couch or in his crate when you’re busy. This smart pup is house trained and crate trained, though he’s trusted home alone uncrated. Corey enjoys walks with plenty of sniffing and will keep a good pace if you are up for a run, but he really thrives on mental stimulation. He is incredibly smart and trainable — he has a long repertoire of words (including “stay,” “go to your crate,” “bring it,” and “give kisses”) and is quick to pick up new ones. He is also a "talker": If he needs to go out, thinks it’s dinner time, or wants his ball, he will let you know. And when he gets his favorite ball, he might even let out a happy little growl of satisfaction. If you are looking for a loving, clever dog who will make you laugh and be a great adventure buddy, Corey could be your perfect match. Apply today to meet Corey! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. Story
Meet Miss Kitty – A Heart Ready to Bloom   Miss Kitty’s story is one of transformation, hope, and quiet bravery. This stunning 2-year-old Aussie mix (around 70 lbs) was once part of a large group of neglected dogs—left without love, attention, or hugs daily.  The days of indifference from humans are long behind her. With the help of a kind foster home, Miss Kitty has discovered the beauty of human kindness, human touch and now she’s ready to find a forever family of her own.  In just two months, she’s blossomed from a shy, uncertain girl into a dog who seeks out affection and enjoys the company of people—especially children, who she now happily follows with her tail wagging. She’s gentle with dogs of all sizes and loves running and playing with her friends in open spaces. Cats are still a mystery to her, but she’s learned to coexist respectfully.Miss Kitty is still gaining confidence with new experiences—like walking on a leash and spending time indoors—but her courage grows every day. She’s curious, sweet, and has a heart that’s learning to trust completely. With a little patience and a lot of love, this beautiful girl will reward her forever family with endless devotion and loyalty. If you’re looking to make a difference in a dog’s life and watch a soul truly bloom, Miss Kitty is waiting for you.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to meet Miss Kitty today!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 18, 2025, 4:58 pm

Story
We adopted Oscar at 11 weeks from a breeder in Virginia. He is now 4.5 years old and has been with us the entire time. He’s a great family dog - very affectionate, smart, likes to cuddle, good with little kids, can be active, but can also just chill (if allowed, he'll sleep all day). He is protective, however, when it comes to unfamiliar adults and since we live in the city, it is hard to keep him separated from new people arriving at our small home or even walking on the sidewalk. He would do well outside the city with a family or just anyone who needs a funny, affectionate dog, but lives somewhere where he doesn’t need to interact with new people.

Story
Stella is a friendly and intelligent dog with plenty of energy. We want her to be happy and have a space where she can run around and play with other dogs. Previously, Stella lived in the mountains of Colorado, where she enjoyed a large fenced yard and had lots of friends to play with. Now, she is living in a townhouse without a yard, which has been challenging for her. As a very active young lady, she is currently feeling unhappy. Stella is a mix of Australian Cattle Dog, Husky, German Shepherd, and Golden Retriever, and she is expected to weigh around 30 pounds. She is a loving and eager-to-learn dog who picks up new skills quickly. Stella would be an amazing agility dog, as this would engage both her mind and her need for physical activity. If agility training isn't your interest, she would also thrive in an active lifestyle with an avid walker, hiker, or runner.  Stella is a very quick learner and was immediately fully potty trained.     To ensure the best for Stella, her new owners should have a yard or live on a farm, and it would be great if they have another dog and children.  Stella has plenty of energy to add playing at home to her list of activities.    Stella has been spayed and is current on all her shots until May 2026.  To be considered for her forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Stella is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)  July 30, 2025, 9:47 pm
