Story
We are pleased to offer a truly adorable and well socialized Aussie Doodle puppy named Andy to the world of dog lovers.   He was surrendered by an overwhelmed breeder who was getting out of the breeding business.  He and his siblings have been raised around young children, other dogs and he has emerged as a fully vetted and neutered young puppy.  Andy is smart and listens really well to the discipline from his foster mom.  He has learned basics like sit, wait, back away and OK as a command to go ahead and eat.  Andy is not a hyperactive puppy or a crazy Doodle like some can be.  But we do want an active and exercise oriented family to adopt him to better provide him with the best match for his breed of Australian Shepherd and Poodle.  He is currently 12 pounds and will not be much bigger than 45-50 pounds when fully grown.  Crate trained and almost housebroken, he will need a skilled or eager to learn family who will polish him into a real diamond of a dog.  If you are interested please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com ASAP! PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 24, 2024, 9:59 pm

Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Handsome! RIGGINS NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name: Riggins            Best Guess for Breed: Aussie/Catahoula      Best Guess for Age:   8 weeks as of 5/21            SEX:   Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  9.8lbs as of 5/21   Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs DC area foster or forever home   Special Adoption Considerations:  Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Riggins is Looking For:  Hiya! I'm Riggins! I can't wait to find my very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than September 24, 2024. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
This is Blue Eyed Lola and she came to our rescue as a very starved nursing momma dog with 6 puppies draining her daily while nursing.  She had been a stray with no food provided for her as she tried to keep her babies alive.  She has now put back on her weight and a tad more than needed but she is safe and loved and trying to find her new family to love.  She is a timid but extremely calm girl that is an Aussie mix with the prettiest blue eyes.  She just wants to belong to someone and her foster mom is so touched by her sweet soul and how she tries to almost be invisible in life and not be a problem.  She needs some confidence building and some training that will make her feel smart!  She is good with other dogs and very submissive to them.  She is just fine with cats and almost completely housebroken.  We love our little Blue Eyed Lola and want the rest of her life to be easy and for her to a treasured part of someone’s family or even a single person’s BFF.  She is great on a leash and rides very well in a car.  She is ready to explore life with someone that wants her to come along.  Lola will be forever grateful to have a chance to love you.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  Let us know where you live:  city and state. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 24, 2024, 9:59 pm

Please contact Jodi Rosenberg (jodi.rosenberg@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet doodle girl ISO fresh start and love! MAGGIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Maggie         Best Guess for Breed:  Australian shepherd and poodle mix - one of those doodle mixes Best Guess for Age:  10 months as of May 2024        SEX: Female    Approximate Weight: 50 lbs as of 5/14/24; she might have a bit more to grow   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested.    Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here!   Special adoption considerations:   Maggie was quite nervous when she arrived in the shelter. but has been making great strides. We think she would do best in a home where she gets plenty of opportunities to interact with other dogs in various settings and learn from them that all is well - doggie daycare, a welcoming resident dog in her home, opportunities like that. Maggie is Looking For:   This sweetie is likely not even a year old and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world - she's looking for her own humans for sniffy walks in the neighborhood, romps in the park, and world exploration! Look at her likely breed mixes - she's likely to be smart and high energy once she feels settled in, so the more physical and mental enrichment she gets, the better for everyone. Making new pup and people pals along the way is high on her wish list as well.  And - she arrived in the shelter terribly matted - basically a giant filthy overgrown mop, her eyes completely covered. Mats HURT. They pull on the skin. She was shaved down and is much more comfortable now - and never wants to get back into that state. She's seeking a family who is fully prepared for how much of a pain doodle coat maintenance can be - daily brushing and combing AND professional grooming (which isn't cheap, so her new people need to be prepared for that).    In exchange, she has SO much to offer. Adoring gazes and lots of love and snuggles and loyal companionship for all her days.  What do you say? Is Maggie the one you can see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
The world sure is changing fast and so are the wonderful dogs that are now available in the rescue world.  Sadly so many are adopted as sweet and cuddly puppies, only to be discarded later because the people are too busy and just not willing to do all the right things the dog needs.  This pure bred Australian Shepherd girl is called Robin and she is only 2 years old and weighs 36 lbs.  She truly was not worked with much in her early two years of life and now she is a “free agent” looking for a better and more Aussie savvy family.  She is shy because she has had few life experiences out and away from home.  She is smart, eager to please but needs a little time to warm up to the new people that approach her.  All of this shyness can be reversed and reinforced with confidence from a new and smart family.  It took about an hour when her current foster first met Robin.  After that it was pet me and love on me.  This beauty is thirsty for love and affirmation that she is special.  With her breed she needs a fenced in yard and we know she would love a playmate at the home.  She gets along great with other dogs and does fine with cats.  Her other special “super powers” are that she is crate trained and is pretty much house trained as long as taken out regularly on a known schedule that she is good with.  She has a beautiful coat and coloring that is very typical for the Aussie breed.  Robin has been around a 3 yr old toddler and shown herself to be gentle, kind and tolerant of the special noises and activities from such an age.  What a great attribute for Robin to have!  Robin loves to be around her people and would like an active family to go on adventures with.  As well as activity, she also loves to be on the couch for snuggles.  Goodness what versatility that this Australian Shepherd has to offer a family that knows the unique quality of her breed.  If you are interested please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask for an application and note where you life:  city and state! Story
Our girl Poppy is a beautiful 7-8 month old girl that looks to be an Australian Shepherd and maybe mixed with Bernese Mountain Dog.   What a beauty this girl is and so well behaved for a young pup that was discarded and auctioned off at a farm animal auction. She is currently 30-35 pounds and destined to be a 45-50 pound girl when fully grown.  This girl has not had the best start from what we can tell but what amazes us is that she knows how to walk obediently on a leash like she was trained for it.  She knows some house manners and she is very easily corrected. This gem of a puppy will be a treasure to adopt as a family companion.  She is very easy going and calm and great with other dogs of all sizes and ages, cats and kittens are no big deal for her and she is good riding in a car.  She is around young children and adores them.   We cannot say that she is housebroken because we actually took her from an outside pen that was not the cleanest and had only a dog house with no tarp or top. She has endured some heavy rain and weather that has had tornado winds and lightning.  She has remained a great puppy despite all the scary situations the past few months.  We will require a fenced yard, someone that has time to train her and not crate her for 9 hours daily.    She is long furred and probably still growing into a delightful freckle faced beauty.  If you want to make this girl yours for a lifetime then email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com             PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 24, 2024, 9:59 pm
